Try this: tst <- c(1e-12, 1e-13, 1e-14, 1e-15, 1e-16, 1e-17, 0) dt(tst,16,1) I get: 0.2381019 0.2385462 0.2296557 0.1851817 0.6288373 3.8163916 (!!) 0.2382217 The 0.238 values are okay,

Stopping smb error messages
I have been getting flooded with the following error messages: smbd[8874]: getpeername failed. Error was Transport endpoint is not connected smbd[8874]: read_socket_data: recv failure for 4. Error = Connection reset by peer I can't figure out how to stop these smb errors short of shutting down samba. I have both an XP Pro and often a Win2000 box on my network...

Indexing Mail faster
Hi, I am trying to get faster search results on our webmail client(Roundcube). Besides using Lucene for FTS are there other options? Would having all mails indexed give fast results? Currently the time it takes to search 25,000mails is 4mins. If indexed how much faster are we looking at? Really appreciate if someone could advise about this. Thanks Kevin

Upgrading Server Motherboard
I have a server running CentOS 4.2 that works as a web/email with very heavy load. It runs Directadmin web gui which is like Cpanel. It runs on a cheapy mATX motherboard(ECS 741GX-M) with socket A 2800+ CPU and 2Gbyte DDR. The OS and data are on a 300Gbyte PATA maxtor drive and data backups are run weekly to another PATA drive. The server is overwelmed and data backups take over 5 hours to
