Info/Feedback on Samba bug #8744...
Happy new year to the list! I'm using Debian wheezy, standard Samba packages, version 2:3.6.6-6+deb7u4. I've hit bug #8744 https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8744 (referenced in debian BTS as https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=658707) that prevent me to use machine account auth; i'm using it with freeradius, to automatically connect some wireless clients. The equivalent of Ghosting the system
If I were to lose my main hard drive, I would like to have the opportunity to do the same as I can do using Windows: restore from my USB and have a working system. If I were to rsync everything on the main drive (excluding the backup drive, of course and a few other directories) to my USB drive, could I restore using some CD based version of Linux e.g. Knoppix? Slow read performance
Help please- I am running 3.3.1 on Centos using a 10GB network. I get reasonable write speeds, although I think they could be faster. But my read speeds are REALLY slow. Executive summary: On gluster client- Writes average about 700-800MB/s Reads average about 70-80MB/s On server- Writes average about 1-1.5GB/s Reads average about 2-3GB/s Any thoughts? Here are some additional details:

On a side note, try recently released health report tool, and see if it does diagnose any issues in setup. Currently you may have to run it in all the three machines.
