How do I identify my hardware?
I'm a little new to CentOS and very rusty on Linux in general (it's been 7 years since I worked on a Linux kernel), so this may seem like a dumb question. I have two issues with my machine - sound and video. My sound card is not recognized at all (I think it's on the mobo, but I'm not sure how to identify it), and I have an ATI dual video card with two screens, but both show

the wandering MAC?
Hi all, I have what appears to be a truly puzzling problem. I've got this P4 32-bit machine running CentOS 5.5 with XEN that has two NICs: one onboard, an Intel Corporation 82540EM Gigabit and one on an expansion card, Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8169 Gigabit. The second one is recognized as eth1. What's happening is, it is showing up under one of the two MAC's: either 00:0a:cd:1a:c1:71 or 00:00:00:00:c1:71. If you reboot it the MAC stays the same; if you shu...

em interface slow down on 8.0R
Hi, I noticed that network connection of one of my boxes got significantly slow just after upgrading it to 8.0R. The box has an em0 (82547EI) and worked fine with 7.2R. The symptoms are: - A ping to a host on the same LAN takes 990ms RTT, it reduces gradually to around 1ms, and then it returns to around 1s. The rate was about 2ms/ping. - The response is quite slow, but no packet

Hello, I sent the following message to the Debian folks. They don't think that the Debian packaging could be responsible for the issue described there. > Well, I'm not completely convinced that we will have very useful input > for you. I don't really see any reason for this to be caused by the > Debian packaging. To check this, why not compile samba from sources,

load balancing: per route or per interface?
Hi! I''m doing load balancing for 5 dsl lines, each one with a dsl router attached to a linux machine ethernet plug. The problem is that I''m adding 15 more dsl lines, and I don''t have enough PCI slots in the linux machine to sum up 20 ethernet plugs (I already have 2 quad ethernet cards). So I''m considering connecting all dsl routers and the linux machine to a

Glusterfs 2.0 hangs on high load
Hello! After upgrade to version 2.0, now using 2.0.1, I'm experiencing problems with glusterfs stability. I'm running 2 node setup with cliet side afr, and glusterfsd also is running on same servers. Time to time glusterfs just hangs, i can reproduce this running iozone benchmarking tool. I'm using patched Fuse, but same result is with unpatched.

pfSense HVM
Hi Everyone, Does anybody have any experience using pfSense on Xen? I would most probably have to use HVM... My idea would be to use PCI-Passthrough to the pfsense DomU, and only make the Dom0 accessable via the pfsense firewall Thanks Jonathan _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

This seems very strange to me, because I don''t have any problem to set higher resolution on a windows 7 domU, using the following parameters in the configuration file: stdvga=1 videoram=16 What could the problem be? Is some video driver missing? -- Flavio
