Problem setting quotas on a zfs pool
Solaris 10 5/08
Customer migrated to a new emc array with a snap shot and did a send and
receive.
He is now trying to set quotas on the zfs file system and getting the
following error.
[root at osprey /] # zfs set quota=800g target/u05
cannot set property for ''target/u05'': size is less than current used or
reserved space

Um, this is JBOD, and not RAID1.
Raid1 would be 2x drives (sda & sdb) appearing as one single drive to the
OS. Data is byte for byte mirrored between them.

LVM problems
Hi!
Folowing setup:
4x HD 500TB
1st: /boot 4GB, remaining part LVM
2nd, 3rd, 4th all LVM
LVM volumes:
- 30G /root
- 8G /var
- 8G /tmp
- 200G /var/log/pgsql
- 800G /var/spacewalk
- 4G swap
System boots into emergency mode because it does not find any of the
logical volumes defined, because it does not enable the LVM volume
group.
Giving "lvm", then "vgchange -a y", followed by CTRL-D continues to
boot to full multiuser mode.
How can I ma...

odd behavior from zpool replace.
...(the one that got pointed at the linux root).
i attempted to replace this drive with a 300GB drive that was going to be
used for something else, but no luck- replace said the device wasn''t large
enough. fair enough- everything else in there is 500gb (despite the pool
size still showing as 800G), so i just assumed zpool wasn''t allowing the
replacement because everything else was a 500gb drive. fair enough.
so i get a 500gb drive- the exact same drive, in fact, as the other drives
in the pool. i install it, attempt to replace it, but get the same error-
the device is too small. t...
