Icecast not listening ports?
Hey guys, First time using a mailing list, hopefully I've done it correctly. I've installed Icecast, and configured ports 8008 and 8009 in my icecast.xml file and started the server with icecast -b -c /etc/icecast.xml Icecast then loads and I can see the process in the command 'top' However, I can't access it with my domain URL, I have Shoutcast setup on this server on different ports and they are accessible...

Mongrel + mod_proxy URL issues
We have a Centos server with a number of virtual hosts, and my rails app runs under one of those virtual hosts using mongrel_rails. The app lives in /home/mydomain/railsapp where /home/mydomain/railsapp/public is the rails root. It runs under mongrel on port 8008, so to get to it users invoke the url http://www.mydomain.com:8008/ - all is fine to this point. Now I have some users whose firewalls forbid these semantics, so I went and configured apache (v1.3) to have mod_proxy in an attempt to get the :8008 out of the URLs the user submits. With a simple...

Confused on URLs to my Rails App
...ome/mydomain/test/public. I am an apache dummy, and have experimented with lighttpd and apache to no avail and keep pissing off my fellow hosts when I hose the apache config. To date I am running mongrel_rails behind apache, and my users have been using a url like "http://www.mydomain.com:8008" assuming I configure mongrel_rails on port 8008. Now I have users behind firewalls that cannot access the 8008 port and I would like something simple that enables my users to type "http://www.mydomain/com/test" and have it bring up the rails app. Much thanks in advance as the W...

Need help with awk one-liner
This awk command pulls URLs from an apache config file, where $x is the config filename. awk '/:8008\/root/ {printf $3 "\t"}' $x The URL that is output by the script looks something like this: ajpv12://hostname.network.company.com:8008/root Is there a way to alter the output so it only shows "hostname" by itself? Do I need to pipe this through awk again to clean it up?

Apache jserv monitoring?
...ny times when URL(s) do not respond, yet the java looks healthy, at least from the OS point of view. The usual cure for this situation is to restart the JVM, then the URLs come right back up. Are any of you aware of tools for monitoring apache jserv, either from localhost or by connecting to port 8008 over the network? I really want to find out if there is a way to detect a "sick" JVM other than getting a bunch of down URL alerts on my phone.

RTP Payload Format for the Speex Codec
Hi, I have a few questions/remarks about the draft, in particular about the SDP usage of Speex (section 5): - Which samplerate should be used if you receive something like m=3Daudio 8008 RTP/AVP 97 a=3Drtpmap:97 speex/8000 a=3Dfmtp:97 sr=3D16000;ebw=3Dultra - There is an inconsistency in the description of the 'penh'parameter. According to the description, only the values '0' or '1' are valid. In section 6.1 however, the default val...
