Dataverse
Hello.
I am trying to find a way to retrieve data from Harvard Dataverse website.
I usually don't have problem in web-scraping data but the problem here is that there are a bunch of data formats such as .tab, .7z and so and I just can't find a way to retrieve the data I am interested in woth an unique solution.
Any hint?

downloading and reading most of the microdatasets (household surveys,

For (b), some of the datasets come in .7z and .rar format which ideally
the package should unzip (or whatever the correct them for uncompacting

package distribution in 7z instead of zip
Hi folks,
Did you consider the possibility of using 7z instead of zip?
It will save almost 50% of space of syslinux-3.73 package
<syslinux-3.73.zip> 7z - 2.5 MB
bz2 - 3.1 MB
tar.gz - 3.7 MB
zip - 4.4 MB
IMHO it's very good job you all have done on this project.
Thanks.

Error on opening, Non 7z Archive
I downloaded a game that I play on my Windows machine hoping to play it on my Linux machine and each time I try installing/opening I get an error that says Non 7z archive. I have tried a few different ways of opening this file to be immediately greeted with this error. Any ideas what is the cause of this? It is a larger .exe file at 2g in size.
Thanks.

I imagine you are using the dataverse package.
7z is more straightforward because the file format is clear.
You need to figure out the 001_AppendixC.tab file format.
On first glance it looks to me like a spreadsheet.
$ file /tmp/001_AppendixC.tab
/tmp/001_AppendixC.tab: Zip archive data, at least v2.0 to extract
$ cd /tmp && unzip...

exec resource not refreshed when subscribed resource changes
Hello,
I''ve created a little class which should unpack a 7z archive on Windows.
The class has a parameter for passing in the archive version, so that I can
trigger an update when a new version of the archive is available. A
simplyfied version looks like this (requires 7z):
class my_archive ($version = undef) {
file { ''version'':...

maintence plan to reindex the database once a week. This is all done over a
2Mbit link normally took 3-4 hrs now I noticed it was running the next day
and took days so I looked into it more. After I discovered the
--only-write-batch it makes a 52 GB file, even hitting it with 7z it only
gets down to 5G plus it makes it harder to script the process. Then I got
to fooling around with the -B option and found on a smaller test database
that when I get to -B1024 it make the smallest file so I tried that. I get
an Out of memory error in receive_sums so I back it off and when I g...

Notes on building a gcc toolchain for Rtools (but not multilib)
...d in the distro
+ I believe building R requires GOMP and pthreads, hence I tried to
modify the scripts to add these
- Installing your own toolchain
+ Read the instructions in the section "How To Build Your Own Distro"
+ You don't have to rebuild everything in components-12.2.7z: you
only need the original binutils-2.25.7z and your own build of
mingw-w64+gcc.7z to replace Rtools's gcc
+ You will need to run a modified version of Stephan's
mingw-w64+gcc.sh script. Besides the gcc source code, you will also
need to download the pthreads-w32 source code from

[LLVMdev] Build errors on trunk for about a week now.
Okay, I got here and cleaned out every trace of LLVM. I then got the
latest from SVN (at the time: 60621). CMaked it, built it. Changed
nothing, no defaults, no anything and the build result is file
BuildLog_2008_12_05_22_19.txt (as a 7z file).
It has lots of errors, all still seem to relate to the const
qualification, but I still changed nothing.
I compiled again, just to get a build log that contained basically
nothing but the errors since everything else was built:
BuildLog_2008_12_05_22_19.txt (as a 7z file)
I then made that...
