Getting all possible combinations
...t all possible combinations of members in a group. Let say I have a group with 5 members : A, B, C, D, E Now I want to generate all possible unique combinations with all possible lengths from that group e.g. 1st combination : A 2nd combination : B ..... 5th combination : E 6th combination : A, B 7th combination : B, C .... last combination: A, B, C, D, E Ideally, I have a fairly large group so am looking for some programmatic way to generate all possible combinations. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

hme0 interface going up/down (dhclient ?)
...e 9th: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-stable/2013-June/073711.html Everything was fine on 8.2-STABLE and older versions. It was then upgraded directly to 9.0-STABLE and this is where I started having issues. I am currently running 9.1-STABLE (July 7th) and issue persists. This is a Sun Netra T1 acting as my home gateway, hme0 is connected to a Cisco switch. I am normally using DHCP to get an ip from my ISP. For now, the only way it works is to set a static ip (I tried different dhclient options ... sync, etc). hme1 and ath0 (AR5...

Re: Calculation with Times Series
...I`m an absolut beginner in R and need some help for an exercise: I want to do ordinary calculations with 2 time series. The issue with this, that I want to use different elements of time series. Let me give you an example: I want to sum let`s say the 10th element of time series 1 with the 7th element of time series 2.  And 9th element of TS 1 with 6th element of TS 2 and 8th element of TS 1 with 5th element of TS 2 ... This pattern of the summation should go all over the time series. Is there a function, which allows me to do this, if possible a function in which I can change the...

TSC and Power Management Events on AMD Processors
...could get confused by TSC-drift. P-state Changes =============== P-state changes are performed by changing a processor core''s input voltage and clock reference rate; thus this changes the rate at which the TSC increments. The effect of P-state changes on the TSC exists in all 7th-generation[7] and 8th-generation[8] AMD processors. If unaccounted for by the operating system, this can lead to TSC drift across multiple processor cores. Also, on current AMD Dual-core processors, the input voltage and frequency of each core is changed in a locked-step manner. Modern operatin...

reshape panel data
..., some of cities did not report in one or more of the 18 years. I would like to implement the procedure suggested by Wooldridge section 17.1.3 in his "Econometric analysis of cross section and panel data" to correct for attrition. For example the table below indicates that the 3rd and the 7th cities in the data set do not have observations for several years. The Wooldridge procedure requires the generation of a selection variable that takes on the value of 1 if the city reports in that year and 0 otherwise. How do I assign a zero to a city when it does not have an observation for that y...
