More Success on the Cisco 7920 and SCCP !!!!!
Hi All, have some decent success on the 7920 "activation" in Asterisk. Latest status: chan_skinny does NOT work with 7920 chan_sccp does WORK with 7920 (!!) however: to remove coredumping the chan_sccp just comment out the MWI (messagewaitingindicator), then it compiles fine. Then change sccp_helper.c: return "P0060302&quo...

Asterisk + Cisco 7920 + chan_sccp or chan_skinny
Greetings, I have seen a few postings in the past regarding the interop of Asterisk and the Cisco 7920 WiFi phone. To date, I have not seen a definitive method to getting the phone working. Assuming someone has this actually working, can that person step up and answer these questions. 1) What Channel is it working with (chan_skinny or chan_sccp)? 2) If code was used that is not a part of a curr...

cisco 7920 makes 7940 reboot
...ered via tftp using the loadInformation8 parameter method taken from voip-info.org ("Configuring Cisco 79xx phones with Asterisk" page) - worked fine once I had all the capital letters in the right place ;-) This does not use the OS79XX.TXT file as far as I can understand. I can get the 7920 working with chan_sccp too, although the labels on the display don't come up. This just picks up its SEP(MAC).cnf.xml from tftp and boots fine too - nothing seems to be required in OS79XX.TXT as mine has POO3-07-4-00 in it, but I don't think that's used by the new Cisco loaders. 2 pro...

7960 Looses DHCP Lease when 7920 boots!?
I finally have my 7920 working though I'm seeing this bizarre behavior. As soon as the 7920 boots and authenticates with the AP my 7960 release's its ip. chan_skinny & XML Files for 7920
Hi, I have a Cisco 7920 that I'm trying to get working with my * box. When the phone boots it requests XMLDefault.cnf.xml and SEP<MACADDRESSHERE>.cnf. I assume I set the line number, etc in the latter of the two. However I cannot find any reference to how this file is structured. Anyone know? I assume this i...

Cisco 7920 Image
Does anyone know if there is a Smartnet contract or whatnot available from Cisco for access to the latest 7920 images? I've got one w/ asterisk that is exhibiting a few of the documented bugs running 1.0.3 (1.0.7 is the latest IIRC). Thanks! -- /* Ian A. Cisco 7920 boot causes 7940 to release DHCP lease
I have been trying to solve a problem wherby when I boot a cisco 7920 my 7940 seeks a new IP and the dhcpd log shows it released its existing IP. In searching for the solution I notice there were 2 messages on this list in Aug & Sep 2004 which raised the problem, but I could not find any answer was posted. Has anyone solved this please? Thanks, Mark.

Cisco 7920 and Asterisk - How well do they play together?
I?ve read various stories about the Asterisk SCCP implementation. Some say it works fine, others say it doesn?t ? stick with a SIP phone! My dilemma is that I?d like a WI-FI phone with multi-line capability, and so far Ciscos 7920 is the only one I?ve found. The disadvantage is that it cannot be upgraded to support the SIP-protocol, so if I purchase such a phone I am stuck with the SCCP. Found a table on voip-info.org listing features and whether they were supported in different Asterisk protocols. For skinny and SCCP th...

....7) after a few hours and tells on the display "connecting to callmanager1" so it seems like it is ignoring the settings for callmanager0 (=asterisk box). Then I have to restart the phone to get a connection to asterisk. Is there anybody out there who has successfully worked with the 7920 phone for longer than a few days and who has some hints on adapting the functionality of the chan_sccp driver to this phone in order to get a stable connection between phone and asterisk. Problems with Cisco 7920/Skinny/Asterisk
Hi, the last 2 days i was working on getting the 7920 Phones to work with Skinny & Asterisk; however no luck (yet). Does anybody has a SEPDefault.CNF.xml and a SEP<mac>.CNF.xml handy for me ? it should be documented at the cisco page, but it isn't :-( I still have the issue that the 7920 spits out "No Service - IP Config failed&qu...

chan_sccp and 7920
I grabbed the 7920 tarball available from the sourceforge site dated sometime in Oct. I've got my 7920 working, however, asterisk seems to stop talking to it sometimes and requires a restart (like kill asterisk completely and restart it). Does anyone know if a new version is on the way? Does the current CV...

Asterisk 1.8 and Cisco 7920
I was curious to know if anyone has had any luck getting Cisco phones working with Asterisk and chan_skinny? Specifically, a Cisco 7920. If a SIP firmware was available, I'd just use that. It works fine with chan_sccp and 1.6, but my understanding is that chan_sccp does not work with 1.8 yet. My workaround for the moment is a 1.6 VM tied via IAX to my 1.8 box. This will work for now, but it's a lot uglier than I prefer....

instructions to get .bin firmware for 7920
...drop them somewhere: data1.hdr data1.cab data2.cab Download i6comp. If you search on google, it's all over the place. From the command line, run: i6comp e -r data1.cab This reassembles the CAB's and unpacks all of the files out of it. You'll need the cmterm-xxxxxxxx.bin and the OS7920.TXT file. Drop these on your tftp server. The phone won't even download the configs unless these 2 files exist. ~jay
