...?t prevent du from walking off the LVM and into /proc. To do that, you?d need to say ?du -hsx /?, but then you don?t get the results you want. Instead, I?d recommend just explicitly listing the most likely pigs: /usr, /var, /home, and /etc. > 14G var > 1.8G usr > 278M lib > 77M boot > 31M etc > 27M lib64 > 15M sbin > 7.8M bin > 188K dev > 112K root I see about 16 GiB. > Why *df -h* is reporting 24G used? Where the space did go? How I can fix > this? 24 - 16 = 8, which sounds suspiciously like the size of a swap file. Wh...

RHOME
R-help -- I built R-2.2.1 in my own directory on a sun (solaris). Now I would like the sysadmin to move the contents to /usr/local/lib and place the binary in /usr/local/bin. No problem. However, the RHOME variable defaults to the directory from which R was built so it is not usable by anyone but me or ROOT. I would like to avoid building this again if possible. Any ideas? Thanks, Dan

Supermicro SAS/SATA controllers?
The standard controller that has been recommended in the past is the AOC-SAT2-MV8 - an 8 port with a marvel chipset. There have been several mentions of LSI based controllers on the mailing lists and I''m wondering about them. One obvious difference is that the Marvel contoller is PCI-X and the LSI controllers are PCI-E. Supermicro have several LSI controllers. AOC-USASLP-L8i with the
