Maximum number of patterns and speed in grep
...am using R's grep function to find patterns in vectors of strings. The
number of patterns I would like to match is 7,700 (of different sizes). I
noticed that I get an error message when I do the following:
data <- array()
for (j in 1:length(x))
{
array[j] <- length(grep(paste(patterns[1:7700], collapse = "|"), x[j],
value = T))
}
When I break this up into 4 chunks of patterns it works:
data <- array()
for (j in 1:length(x))
{
array$chunk1[j] <- length(grep(paste(patterns[1:2500], collapse = "|"),
x[j], value = T))
array$chunk1[j] <- length(grep(paste(pa...

[PATCH] Increase MAX_SKBUFF_ORDER
Hi,
The recent (changeset 7700) switch to use the architecture
specific skbuff allocation routine breaks with very large MTU sizes.
The below patch raises the MAX_SKBUFF_ORDER to 3. Could this be
applied to make it the default?
Thanks,
Phil

Here is my attempt:

tab3<-apply(tab2,1,sum)
Computing tab2 is very slow.

How do you scale dovecot for good performance with Roundcube webmailer in front? (hitting limits without exhausting resources)
...the Roundcube. This includes actions like listing mails and fetching them. I am hitting a somehow dubious limit of 600 req/s though. (This includes all kinds of HTTP calls to Roundcube, not only the ones triggering IMAP). When the dovecot becomes unavailable, the performance without mails jumps to 7700 req/s. Testing is done with 4 JMeter-servers and one client.?
My setup is a Dovecot with MySQL (Percona XtraDB) backend. Mails are encrypted with mail_crypt and EC keys. Authentication is done in parallel (auth_cache_verify_with_workers=yes). Where possible min_available_processes have been set eq...

Accessing the elements of a list
Hi R,
I wanted to know how do we access the elements of a list. In particular,
v=list(c(1,2,3,4,5),c(1,2,33,4,5),c(1,2,333,4,5),c(1,2,3333,4,5))
I want to access all the thirds items of the elements of the list. i.e.,
I want to access the elements, 3,33,333,3333. This can be done through
sapply as:
sapply(v,function(x) x[3])
But I need to access this without using

llvm pass is very slow
Hi
I write a LLVM function pass. The pass will loop the basicblock in the
function, check the instruction's type with dyn_cast<switchinst>, print the
instruction and the basicblock's successors. I think it is not very complex.
My bitcode file is about 30M. My CPU is i7-7700(3.6GHz). It has been
running for 60 hours but it is still running. I am not sure whether this is
a normal behavior. If so, any options or suggestions to help me speed up
the analysis. Many Thanks
Regards
Muhui
