Question from Argentina
...even though it does seem very far away at the moment.
OK, I get the point, but even at 192 kb/s, 32 bit sample resolution
and say... about 100 channels (but by the very definition of a sample
count one should consider one sample per frame, even if it has 100
subframes) one would have room for a 7616 year file!
It seems a bet for a long life for FLAC --and for humankind!

Its not that we need space for 7616 years, its that if we only use
32 bit offsets, then we would be limited to files of 2 Gigabytes
(signed 32 bit integer) is simply not enough.
For instance, at 96kHz/24 bits, recording 8 channels would chew up
the 2Gigabytes in about 15 minutes. Some...

axis placement with stacked barplots and the asp=1 parameter
Hi,
I'm currently using barplot to generate vertically stacked bar charts.
I'd like to be able to use the "asp=1" parameter with barplot(), but
doing this causes the y axis to be placed on the far left as shown in
the attachment demo.pdf.
I could get around this by using the negative values for the line
parameter of the axis() function. I'd rather not do this and imagine

> If not, is there a documentation for a TCP Socket Communication?
Yes. The HTTP RFCs. Because what Mr. Gleason suggests is that you
implement HTTP PUT yourself.
That is: RFCs 7230, 7231, 7234, 7235, 7236, 7617, and maybe 7616. You
may also want to have a look at RFCs 2817, and 2818 for TLS.

It is a pure C library, not C++. I'm not aware of such a binding myself.
However maybe someone else is. I'm a POSIX de...

Sylpheed-Claws aka Claws-Mail
Question!
I took the spec from Claws-Mail (formerly called Sylpheed-Claws) of
FC6 and updated it from 2.9.0 to 2.9.1 (correctly I believe). I
created the rpms from the build and I suppose I will sign them and put
them up on kuei-jin.org. My question is, should I give them to someone
to see if what I did is correct? QA?? I didn't edit any source or
anything. I know that it works because I

Question from Argentina
Dear Friends,
I am new to this mailing list. I am with the National University of
Rosario, Argentina, and I am writing a book on software-based
acoustical measurements, which includes a chapter on FLAC for
archival and streaming purposes from an remote embedded system
including a sensor.
I would like to ask why the seekpoint information in the seek table

HELP, I accidentally initialized my /boot partition
So I installed a second drive in my system today, and instead of
typing "mkfs.ext3 /dev/sda1" I did a "mkfs.ext3 /dev/hda1".
Fortunately, that was just my /boot partition. I thought I could
just copy the contents from the /boot partition from another system,
but that didn't work as expected. The again, I don't have another

Stupid newbie question
Is there a configuration file in asterisk used for modifying Daylight savings time or is this strictly being dictated by linux?

Indexing Mail faster
Hi,
I am trying to get faster search results on our webmail client(Roundcube).
Besides using Lucene for FTS are there other options?
Would having all mails indexed give fast results?
Currently the time it takes to search 25,000mails is 4mins. If indexed how
much faster are we looking at?
Really appreciate if someone could advise about this.
Thanks
Kevin
