Securing mailboxes and passwords
Hi list
I am just experimenting with seting up my own email server. I want some tips
and hints on how to secure my setup to prevent unauthorised assess to my email.
I have read through the wiki and have not found many tips. I hope to
improve the wiki with tips gathered from the emailing list. :-)
A basic measurement I could take right now would be to set more secure

Winbind question
...fig SAMDOM:default = yes
idmap config *:backend = tdb
idmap config *:range = 70001-80000
If I type :
# wbinfo -i administrator
I get :
administrator:*:70001:70001::/home/administrator:/bin/bash
If I create a user (foo) and trying to obtain his informations :
# wbinfo -i foo
I get:
foo:*:70002:70001::/home/foo:/bin/bash
Why winbind doen't use AD range instead of TBD range ? And even if I
must use TDB range is there a certainty that this uid/gid are the same
over all members ?
Another clue : If I use SAMDOM:backend = rid the users receive a uid/gid
in SAMDOM range and not in TDB...

Even with root as owner or chmod777 on target directory result in the

I also tried to upload it from windows7 64 bits or win10 64 bits

Allow Samba4/AD group "MYDOM\Domain Admins" to login through SSH on linux hosts
Hi,
For several linux server on our network we want to allow the AD domain group called "MYDOM\Domain Admins" to login through ssh with their AD credentials. Our DC1 and DC2 are running on Debian 64bit using Samba 4.1.12/Sernet.
I'm kinda confused, what exactly I need therefore. Do I need to setup a PAM_authentication as explained on that tutorial here?

calling java from R and using java time series double precision array
I haven't had time to try using R for over a year, but have a colleage who
wants to.
We work with time series and our current version of our calendar-time
subroutines in
java converts both directions between linear time and calendar.
We have used calendar time since year 1965 starting out then with Fortran.
Calendar time can be CnYrMoDa | CnYrMoDaHr | CnYrMoDaHrMn | CnYrMoDaHrMnSc
