Is it possible to read jpeg files into R?
...the numeric result appears to be much too complex for
a simple line graph and I cannot see how to use image or
contour to re-create the original jpeg image. Is there an
R routine to do this?
Thanks, in advance, for your help,

making operators act on rows of a data frame
...here
the columns I wish to sum are numerous and change from time to time).
I would be very grateful to know if it is possible to get operators
to act on rows of a data frame, and if so, how.
I am running R1.8.1 on Windows NT.

you remove me from the mailing list?

plotting a simple graph

incorrect
Please could someone enlighten me on how to plot the regression lines?

R hang-up using lm
...so avoid the problem by coercing x1 and x2 to be vectors.
So, I don't need help to solve the problem. But, it seems an odd
problem since it affects one plotting method, but not the other,
and it actually causes R to crash.

say, the operating system continues and any other programs that are multi-

If anyone could give me an idea on how to avoid this problem, I'd be

Designing and incorporating a digital filter
...o know how to incorporate this into my R code (or, better, I'd
like to know how to design bandpass filters directly in R - the help file
for the filter() function does not detail how to do this)
Thank you

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
