Device not found--newhidups, FreeBSD 4.10, CyperPower 685AVR

uhid1: CPS UPS BF700, rev 1.10/0.01, addr 2, iclass 3/0

things easier at first.
Anyway, I grabbed the nut development source off CVS, compiled/installed
(including the USB stuff), and tried to connect to the 685AVR. (I also
installed libusb, of course.)
# newhidups -DD -u root -x vendorid=0764 auto
But, it's no dice:

Install problem & Geek Squad UPS
...ters. I have very limited work on Linux/Unix. I
did get Apache web server running (redden.homeip.net). If someone can
point me in the right direction I will try to get it working. Cyber
Power Systems makes the GS1285U and they say that it shares some of the
commands with the Cyber Power Systems 685AVR.
Here is the info from my system. I ran hidups on all my USB devices.
From /usr/local/ups/etc/ups.conf These are the only non-comment lines.

Geek Squad UPS Systems
We are interested in using Nut on our Federa 6.0 servers. However, our
UPS systems are sold under the name "Geek Squad" (sold through the Best
Buy chain of department stores). I'm pretty certain Geek Squad does not
manufacture these units and they just rebrand them. Does anyone know who
makes these units or what they are compatible with in terms of driver
level protocol? The ones we

CyberPower OR2200
i own a CyberPower OR2200LCDRM2U and was wondering if any nut drivers
support this ups. none i have tried have worked although usbhid-ups did
tell me that the productid=0601 was not supported yet. i see in the
compatability list on the nut website that the PR2200 is supported with
the powerpanel driver but the OR2200 is not listed. i am interested in
what i am doing wrong or if this is a support

Cyberpower 900AVR/BC900D newhidups problem
I'm trying to get nut to work with a Cyberpower 900AVR. There are many
different products known by this name, but this one has the extra name
'BC900D'.
I am told by a cyberpower tech that this one should talk exactly the
same USB protocol as the 685AVR, which was recently made to work with
newhidups.
Unfortunately, when I run the SVN checkout (trunk) of nut-2.1, I get:
sstreet drivers # ./newhidups -DDDDD -u root /dev/usb/hiddev0
Network UPS Tools: New USB/HID UPS driver 0.28 (2.1.0)
debug level is '5'
