I had only a quick view on the blog-texts. It might be that a CLANG generated with LTO/PGO speeds up the build. Can you confirm this? Can you confirm binutils-gold speed up the build? This is a new conversion module to convert SUSE Linux and openSUSE guests. The converter is based on the RedHat module, and should offer the same functionality on both SUSE and RedHat hosts.
