cptime/memdisk block size
...size MEMDISK uses
to load (big iso/harddisk) image files?
Experimenting with cptime.c32 on a Lexar Triton Jumpdrive (64GB, 170MB/s
read in Windows, 150MB/s write in Windows) on bootable USB3.0 resulted
in the following, depending on specified block size:
* 2048 bytes --> 25MB/s
* 2MB --> 61MB/s
It would be nice to know at which speed MEMDISK is loading, but a
stopwatch seems a bit crude as only method.

Theora file size
Hi
I was surprised with size of Theora files and thought
of feedback.
Following 1minute duration Theora and Xvid files were
made from a y4m file. The resolution is 1280x720:
1. Xvid 17MB
2. Ogg/Theora Q7 31MB
3. Ogg/Theora Q8 38MB
4. Ogg/Theora Q9 49MB
5. Ogg/Theora Q10 61MB
The Xvid file was made using mencoder by 2 passes with
following options:
bitrate=2500:autoaspect:chroma_opt:vhq=4:bvhq=1:quant_type=mpeg:pass=1
The encoder_example was used to create Ogg/Theora
files.
It was noted y4m to Theora encoding was the fastest
that I have ever seen. The Q9 Ogg/Theora...

win32 lld Linker speed
I've got a customer project that emits a 18 MB .exe and 9 MB .exe.pdb;
It takes about 6 minutes to link on their system, 2 minutes to link on
mine (this a regullar lld -flavor link /opt:lldlto=0). the input is
about 61mb of bitcode files (originally about 2100 object files) with
debug info (both pdb and dwarf get emitted) stored in 5 .lib files,
compiled with -O0 but with thin-lto (without thin-lto it wasn't faster).
Is this something to be expected?
Can I do something to improve the speed?
Thanks,
Carlo K...

xenballooning
As I understand concept of xenballooning, it allow to take memory from
guest and return it to hypervisor. This allow to reduce amount of memory
allocated to VM in realtime without rebooting VM.
But how we can add more memory to guest VM in realtime, than was at boot
time?
Can we somehow make balloon inflated at start time? (F.e. VM starts with
memory = 512Mb and balloon inflating to +512Mb).

Hot swap CPU
From: Rodrigo Barbosa <rodrigob at suespammers.org>

There _are_ systems with hot-swap CPUs, memory and/or, PCI[-X] slots.
They are _not_ commodity and pricey, and require OS-level support.
In fact, I believe Linux 2.6 has some support for
