Oracle DB giving zpools a wedgie
We ran into an interesting situation recently w.r.t. Oracle 9i and
the zpool it lives on.
Oracle is installed on (and has its tablespace on as well) a zpool
which is comprised of two mirrored LUNs, and each LUN is from a
separate 6140. We needed to do work on one of these 6140s and so I
went to detach that side of the mirror from the zpool. What happened
next was peculiar .... the ''zpool detach ...'' command hung, and
continued to do so until Oracle itself was shut down... then the
''zpool detach'' command completed.
