RED to use ECN (or work at all?)
Dear Community, sorry for the somewhat dumb question. Maybe someone has any pointer to how to setup the RED queue to mark pakets with ECN. In particular what are appropriate parameter settings for limit, min, max, etc. All my trials end up with either "RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument", although the command line (at least for me) looks fine in regard to what is said on the

Regarding stack usage in Opus
Hi, We have observed that the stack usage in Opus Encoder/Decoder is enormous(50-60Kb approx). As we all know, in embedded systems, high stack usage is discouraged. How are we planning to take care of that? One idea is to allocate the required memory on heap and pass it on as an argument to the main Opus API and allocate the internal buffers used by the internal modules on the allo...

newbie qs. how to seek to a point in the Speex file?
...1) Can the duration of the clip be stored in it? Page 24 here http://www.speex.org/docs/manual/speex-manual.pdf describes the format, but I could not see where the duration of the clip is stored. 2) Since the Speex compression is not linear, is it still possible (say) for a 60 second clip which is 60Kb, to seek accurately to 10 seconds on the time-line by discarding the first 10Kb of data? If there is any example of how to do an approximate seek, it would be appreciated. thanks, Anil -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... memory problem
...1: Reached total allocation of 255Mb: see help(memory.size) 2: Reached total allocation of 255Mb: see help(memory.size) * My OS is Win 2000 Proffesional. Those 2 objects are of sizes *> object.size(Xs) [1] 805404 > object.size(piks) [1] 115128* accordingly. The 2 files use only 142KB and 60KB accordingly. Why does memory need so much (1.6 GB) space? How can I enlarge it? Is it possible to allocate a part of memory used to the hard drive? Or, is the trouble only with my script? Best regards, Ginters [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Samba and admin users performance
...= testuser If I connect using a user other than testuser, I get ~8 MB/s from the clients, and if I look at a trace, I can see that all read operations are in 4K blocks(Read AndX Request/Response). If I connect using root or testuser(which is in the admin users), I get 50MB/s and samba goes up to 60KB blocks when reading. Also during the negotiation, I can clearly see that "Max Buffer: 0" is set in the "Session Setup AndX Request, NTLMSSP_NEGOTIATE sent by the client, while this is 16644 when connecting as root/testuser. When switching to "security = share" and using gue...

oom-killer.
Hi all, Just watching for my first time the 'oom-killer' call in a CentOS 4.2 workstation. System was running normally but with high load of nice process, iow, rosetta and seti, others appart, nautilus, etc... i realized that after a night of standby running normally, the next moorning after few manual operations from X-session in local console, it started a massive swapping, this time

Centos Guys: Any estimate of recent torrent savings?
...cing of mirrors, faster initial release downloads, reduced costs to the project, etc. I recently increased my cable modem speeds (U.S. $10/mo seemed worth it to me even though I don't get the benefits of the added download speed often - nature of what I do and all that) so I could upload appx. 60KB/s instead of the previous appx. 45KB/s. And the new {lib, r}torrent from rpmforge has DHT capability included, which I activated, and I think is increasing the number of peers/clients with which I see exchanges. I don't know how badly this might cause under-reporting of your stats. Just curiou...

Help about a QoS configuration
Hi, I would like to make a QoS configuration on a linux based dsl router. It is for a server, so I want to shape outgoing traffic, incoming traffic should not be a problem as long as I have a quite assymetric connection. I would like to achieve the following goals: 1) To have one class (p2p) having all the available bandwith if there is no activity on other classes. 2) If another class (ftp
