My Grandstream works, but my X-Lite doesn't: no sound after 5sec
X-Lite build 1079 consistently chokes no matter which codec I use - after five seconds I suddenly have no sound coming in and possibly no sound going out too. Putting the line I'm on on hold and then switching back to it gives me another five seconds of sound, then it dies, etc. The Grandstream 101 I'm using is a piece of junk but I don't have the same problem with it. Not sure

My Grandstream works, but my X-Lite doesn't:no sound after 5sec
This is troubling. Shouldn't your hubs/routers autosense the 10MBPS? ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: WipeOut <wipe_out@lycos.co.uk> Reply-To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Date: Wed, 15 Oct 2003 07:53:13 +0100 >Steven J. AG-468 4xFXS - my personal review
...asterisk, doesn't matter how hard I tried. Despite simple configuration, the unit wouldn't register with asterisk even with their tech. support instructions. Their manual is short on detail as well. Another poor design is the "magic button" by the power supply. If pressed by 5sec. it will reset to default IP not the one set from the factory but to 192.168.0.1. Imagine a cleaning lady dusting or rearranging and holding the unit for 5sec.; you come back to work in the morning and none of the 4-phones are working. So, from my experience the unit is not worth consideration, y...

DDoS attacks, what can be done?
Hi, I run two live c-class subnets on the internet. Last Sunday morning I was hit with a DDoS attack and it hasn''t stopped. I made modifications on my shorewall firewall during Sunday to lesson the impact, as they were hammering me with 180k/5sec traffic both ways (inbound and outbound). One of the primary things which helped reduce their DDoS was enabling "norfc1918" on the interfaces (this stopped about 95% of the barrage), but I also enabled routefilter, dropunclean, blacklist and tcpflags. The blacklist feature unfortunately d...

Simulation using parts of density function
Hi My simulation with the followin R code works perfectly: sim <- replicate(999, sum(exp(rgamma(rpois(1,2000), scale = 0.5, shape = 12)))) But now I do not want to have values in object "sim" exceeding 5'000'000, that means that I am just using the beginning of densitiy function gamma x < 15.4. Is there a possibility to modify my code in an easy way? Thanks for any help!

speex optimisation for ARM 5TE architecture
Hi JM, I am using narrowband mode with speex qaulity set to 0 and complexity set to 4. The code works fine on the 3.2GHz processor. The test program speexenc takes 7ms to encode 5sec worth of voice on the 3.2Ghz processor. The same takes 700ms on the ARM5E intel Xscale. The code that I wrote puts 10 speex frames in one RTP packet. When exexcuted on ARM I get lots of underrruns hence noise. I was wondering perhaps its because of the speed of ARM processor as dictated by the s...

best Fax board?
Prospective user question? What is the simplest/inexpensive board to use in order to be able to receive faxes in Asterisk. I have a couple of cards I bought off E-bay think they were TX-1000 (or supposed to be anyways) but I assume I need some form of fax card though.
