How to send SMS to Gigaset phones ?
Hi,
Searching this list archives, I couldn't find a definitive answer to my
question :
how to send SMS to Gigaset phones ?
My goal is to send Alert SMS such as "This phone system will be stopped in
5mn for maintenance" to every terminal (SIP phones and Gigaset DECT phones).
(So at the moment, I'm not looking for way to send SMS from handsets).
I could successfully send 1 short text message to 1 SIP hardphones (using
sipsak) (I've not tried to send the same message to several phones...

Eaton 1500 USB constant disconnections
Hi,
I have a eaton 1500 that connects to an Ubuntu Xenial box via USB. The UPS
works, however exactly *ever 5 minutes* it disconnects and reconnects and I
see this in syslog:
Mar 10 19:50:32 spike kernel: usb 4-5: USB disconnect, device number 103
Mar 10 19:50:33 spike kernel: usb 4-5: new low-speed USB device number 104
using ohci-pci
Mar 10 19:50:34 spike kernel: usb 4-5: New USB device found,

Variable Bit Rate
Is FLAC a variable bit rate format when streamed? If so, how can it be
truly lossless?

[RFC V2] virtio: Add platform specific DMA API translation for virito devices
...h to plumb alternate DMA ops.
So for some reason you seem to be dead set on a path that leads to
mountain of user pain, changes to many different projects and overall
havok while there is a much much simpler and elegant solution at hand
which I described (again) in the response to Ram I sent about 5mn ago.

this is a workaround implemented to avoid, under some specific conditions,
a freeze of the USB communication.
As far as I've been told, when there is an actual SW communication (such as
with NUT) with requests and replies in the 5mn timeframe, this should not
occur.
Could you please:
- confirm back that there is indeed a SW communication setup (NUT or UPower
for example),
- send me back the upsc output for this unit, including the serial number
and firmware revision
thanks and regards,

That's also why the format can't help but be VBR: different pieces of sound contain different amounts of information per second, and therefore have different compressio...
