INIT: Id "x0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
Hello, I''m running a SLES10 SP1 Server as a Dom0 and as DomU. I have allocated 1024 Mb RAM to the DomU and one virtual processor (physical processor is a dual core Intel Xeon 3.4 Ghz). A warning is regularly displayed on the standard output : INIT: Id "x0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes Any idea where that come from ? Thanks in advance. Hervé Marcy

NIS, Samba
Hi, I have samba 2.1 (last month cvs) working as a PDC on a linux machine. Everything works fine except for the connection (opening a session), which is very slow. Login could take up to 5minutes. Making the samba server a slave NIS server helped a lot, however it still gets extremely slow when several (>20) users try to login at the same time. This problem occurs only when there are many users in the NIS passwd file/smbpasswd. (there are about 300 workstations entries, and 1800 users en...

DC2 denies access when saving through the Group Policy Management Console
...mydom.example.com" I can choose "Change Domain Controller...". Inside the window which is opened, on the bottom I see my two domain controllers which I can choose I'd like to connect to. Whatever I can configure while connected on DC1, the changes are propagated to DC2 after max. 5minutes and I can check that the settings are successfully transferred to DC2. But ==> Whenever I try to make modifications while connected to DC2 I get errors like "No permission" or "Error 0x80070005 during the save ... Access denied" and stuff like that. I cannot modify settings...

The group is 500 which is the gid=500 of my domain group "Domain Admins".After 5minutes the sysvol-sync (unison+rsync) is syncing that object successfully to DC2. When I do "ls -lh" on DC2 I get the same output. So fine so good, everything works fine and as expected until now. Now we do the reverse thing. I create a new GPO on DC2. The file mode on DC2 looks like that: dr...

Winbindd timeout on unreacheable domains
...e it takes five minutes to timeout before winbindd becomes active (/tmp/.winbindd/pipe is created). If I assume this will be the same behaviour for winbindd in our production environment then if our domain were isolated from the rest of the trusted domains then winbindd would take 45 minutes (9x 5minutes) to become active if we needed to restart a server. Because our domain is on a physically different and separately managed network from the others it is more than possible this type of situation could occur. 45 minutes to startup is obviously unacceptable especially as I hope to deploy Samba 3.x on...

ISDN D-channel disconnects for a minute every 5 minutes
I have a problem with Asterisk-bristuffed using a zaphfc card. I am located in the Netherlands, so I have an ISDN line from KPN. When I start Asterisk, and plug in the ISDN line, everything works perfectly for about 5 minutes. And then the ISDN line is down for 1 minute, and after that minute, the line comes back up and works for another 5 minutes. Every time the line goes down I get the error
