arm: network throughput decreases 5Mbps (Arndale Exynos5250)
Hello, While I was doing some tests in Arndale board, the network (iperf) throughput suddenly decreases to 5Mbps (from 100Mbps) out of nowhere. This typically happens when I generate traffic using iperf (100Mbps) while installing some packages using apt-get in dom0. Whenever this behavior happens, I can not see any distinguishable logs from any places. After some debugging, I found that usb_hcd_irq handler...

Where to best start looking for voicemail/moh sound quality problem?
I'm running Asterisk 1.2.13 on a Solaris 10 X86 box behind an IPCop firewall on a 5Mbps down/512 up cable connection. I'm having sound quality problems when users call in for voicemail and with music on hold. The sound is choppy and muffled while souding pretty good for calls inside the network. I'd appreciate some pointers as to where to start looking to improve things. I...

HTB Troubleshooting
Hello all, Probably a silly problem as a result of lack of understanding here, but I''m having some trouble with a supposedly simple shaping script here. I have a bunch of IPs on an interface tun0 (VPN clients) which I''m trying to rate limit to 5Mbps default, and then set externally by a script to 1Mbps or 10Mbps. All traffic goes out of eth0 from the clients - no routeback. Shaping doesn''t seem to be working correctly (user''s upload is ~250KB/sec + when it''s meant to be rate limited to 1Mbps - ip ending .6 - the co...

...ewer streams) or get more bandwidth. It's that > simple. Tell us what you want to do about it, and we'll try to help. OK. I've gotten everything running with one problem. I'd like to downsample a live stream. It's talk, and I'd like to squeeze 200 connections into a 5Mbps pipe. I'm currently able to do a 24K mono stream, but 11K would do the trick. I've seen references to <downsample>, but can't find any hard documentation on it (other than a couple sample configs and a statement about how it might not work with live streams). Any tips? -- Dr...

Bandwidth limited when shorewall is enabled
...e connections are fine, and can saturate my GbE network, with or without shorewall running. I''ve also tested transfering from the firewall itself and from machines behind the firewall, both ways exhibit the same problem. My firewall is a Soekris 6501-50 running debian sid, on a 100mbps/5mbps cable internet connection. I''d appreciate any insight anyone might have. -- Thomas Fjellstrom thomas@fjellstrom.ca ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by Windows: Build for Windows Store. http://p.sf.net/sfu/w...

Problem with bandwidth
...to send 2 flows of traffic (EF and BE) from Host1 to Host2. I allocate EF 3Mbit and BE 7Mbit in router. But using DREC (a receiver that comes with MGEN), i observed the bandwidth obtained by BE and EF do not tally with my tc configurations. And the sum of the total bandwidth received is about 4-5Mbps. I read somewhere in the mailing list that udp will have defragmentation problem. Another reason that i can guess is the way the software (MGEN and DREC) measure is not accurate. Any suggestions on what software i can use in order to have measurement that tally with tc configurations? Thank...

Cisco VoIP QOS
I have currently following the instructions at- http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/QoS+Cisco I am using a Cisco 877 router with an ADSL2+ connection. My upstream bandwidth is around 1Mbps, and my downstream around 4-5Mbps. I have two PSTN side interfaces - atm0 and dialer0 (dialer0 is where the ISP details are configured and the interface that the WAN side IP is applied on) Now which interface to I apply the QOS on? I would have thought dialer0, but for some reason this interface does accept is citing that it on...

Strange QoS behavior

As the docs states, outbound/inbound average speed should be expressed in KBps (KBytes per second) but in order to get a maximum speed of 10Mbps (megabits per second) surprising enough I have to use 2560 on the guest (not 1280 as expected). Using 1280 units I get a speed og 5Mbps. I'm aware of peak and burst parameters but even with them I'm seeing the same (long-term) behavior. Here follows my configuration. Dovecot / FreeBSD / Nfs mailstore / Index=memory
...seems that some imap clients are going mad when deleting files (mostly because they do open some new imap connection and the index was not clean) so I have changed index to memory. This has fixed one of my problems. Now I have some strange problems is that NFS activity passed from about... 5mbps to more than 70Mpbs... Is there any reasons about that ? How many guests
Hi Everyone, I have a Dell R210 server which has a Xeon X3430 Quad Core CPU (2.4Ghz x 4) with 8GB of RAM. I intend to use the H200 controller in a RAID1 setup How many VMs do you think I''d be able to run on this machine? Is 20 pushing it? I''d say most (if not all) guests would be in PV mode. Thanks _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list

Rate limiting for guests via ebtables
Hello to all, I''ve got some guests that are really beginning to become bandwidth hogs. Some of them are file mirrors, some of them are just simple ftp backup servers. I''d like to try ebtables with my public bridges to try and tame things a bit, and was wondering if anyone has some snippets or scripts they would like to share. I''m new to ebtables, and am finding it a

Skipping problems on outgoing calls (using uLaw with an internal * server through Voxee)
...t; or lag on the other side, so that the person whom I'm talking to's voice sounds like it "skips a beat," analogous to when a CD you're listening to skips quickly. I don't think -- but am not positive -- that it is a question of insufficient bandwith, as I am on a Cox 5mbps/2mbps cable line that is very reliable and pretty stable. I believe I am using uLaw both to the Asterisk server /and/ from the Asterisk server to Voxee, my outgoing SIP provider/PSTN terminator. Is this a common problem? It doesn't seem like it should be, as it is a major detriment to havi...

QoS in wireless networks
...preferred because it is simpler and more understandable. However, I see a problem with HTB in wireless networks: sometimes the available bandwith fluctuates due to interferences, retransmissions, etc, and then I don''t know if HTB fits well for that. ¿What is the real effect of sharing 5Mbps among traffic classes with HTB if the real bandwith dropped to 1Mbps? ¿Is CBQ better for these cases where the bandwith to share is not stable? Thanks in advance Javier _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list / LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl http://mailman.ds9a.nl/mailman/lis...

tinc running openwrt (mikrotik metarouter mips)
...g and finding the correct mipsbe openwrt package to run as a metaROUTER image on my RouterBoard 951G-2HnD. The only issue I am facing now is the performance has dropped significantly since switching to metaROUTER image. I used to be able to get speeds in region of 60Mbps and now im only getting max 5Mbps. The CPU utilisation bumps up to 75% once I throw something at it. I think it might be the compute resources (memory, cpu) that is causing the metaROUTER VM to suffer. Has anyone played around with metaROUTER and Openwrt ? Regards Yazeed Fataar <yazeedfataar at hotmail.com> On Sun, Jan 24, 2...
