Dell's SAS 5IR and CentOS
Hello,
Has anyone here installed CentOS on a Dell Poweredge with a SAS 5IR
controller? Does it work? With what driver? Is this real hardware
RAID?

have two 250 GB SATA drives. The HD controller is: SAS 5IR SAS,Internal
Raid Adapter (SAS5IR)
for HD Configuration) the options are:
(1) Add-in SAS5iR (SATA/SAS Controller)-RAID 0 (ASASR0)
(2) Onboard SATA, 2 Drives connected to Onboard SATA Controller No RAID
(MST2)
(3) Add-in SAS5iR (SATA/SAS Controller) which supports 1-2 Hard

different read i/o performance for equal guests

I''m using Xen 3.0 in a Debian Linux Etch / Dell PowerEdge 860 / 4GB
RAM / Pentium 4 Dual Core 3Ghz. The machine is using a RAID Controller
SAS 5iR, configured with two 500GB disks in RAID-1 (mirroring). I was
getting I/O throughput problems, but then I''ve searched the Internet
and find a solution saying that I needed to enable the write cache on
the RAID controller. Well, my I/O problems have gone in the Dom0 and
some DomU, but in on...
