ssh prompting for password
...Considering that this key is internal network only and doesn't have a
passphrase set (it does not traverse internet boundaries) why on earth
am I being prompted for a password whenever I ssh into this machine?

ssh with shared home dir
...into each host that
shares the NFS home directory without entering a passphrase (assuming
the key doesn't have one)? and assuming the permissions on the
authorized_keys file belong to the user with mode 600?

failure to import ldif into ldap

ldapadd: Invalid syntax (21)
additional info: objectClass: value #1 invalid per syntax
Why this ldif will work in one directory but not another is a mystery
at this point..

I need to generate a subkey in gpg in order to sign my emails. I
already have a main key. how do I generate the subkey I need to
encrypt emails? I have already run gpg --gen-key

pam_ldap login under centOS
...t ; COMMAND=/bin/bash
I do see other events in secure.log that appear to be pam successes
however. am i interpreting this correctly that at least part of the
system is communicating with pam on the ldap server?

can't find ldapseaerch

If you feed the command line the full path to ldapsearch it works as
intended. I was wondering if anyone had any idea why ldapsearch isn't
being found?

I haven't specified port 3774 _anywhere_ in my ldap config:
