SSH - VNC - Shorewall
Hi,
I''m struggling with a simple problem and need some help.
I have a remote XP laptop connecting with SSH to my linux firewall (RH9,
kernel 2.6) and creating a tunnel to port 5995 on the firewall. So now
traffic going from the laptop localhost port 5902 is tunnelled to my
firewall port 5995. That''s working fine.
On my local network I have an XP box I want to control with RealVNC 4. VNC
viewer from the firewall to the XP box works fine.
I''m trying to forwa...

smaller samba binaries for embedded system
Hi all,
I am trying to build a nas box for an embedded device that runs Linux. I
have cross compiled the samba-3.0.24 suite, but the binaries i got are
bigger and could not fit onto the free space that I have on the flash (i
have only 2MB free). I have seen smaller samba binaries for NSLU2 box. I
have disabled all the unnecessary options while compiling samba. I googled
about my problem but could

If I start saslauthd as a service:

However, if I stop the system service:

Using a program
OS: CentOS 5 x86.
There is a program I am using which requires a start up service running.
The service runs in Runlevels 3,4,5. When I am using the program as a
root it works fine. When I am using it as a user it produces an error.
If I do as a root, /etc/init.d/program start, then I can use it as a
simple user. I have emailed the company that makes it and had no
response. Any idea on how

[LLVMdev] Can't connect to CVS
Hi,
Attempting to use cvs with LLVM is producing the following:
bash-2.05b$ cvs status
cvs [status aborted]: connect to
llvm-cvs.cs.uiuc.edu(128.174.245.58):2401 failed: Connection refused
I think this has happened before and the root cause was a stuck xinetd
process on the cvs server.
Perhaps its time to file a bug against the cvs server's configuration?
:)
Reid.

Managing a Samba4 AD DC using a Win7 workstation
Hello,
I just installed Samba4 using the following doc :
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO
Everything works Ok. All tests are Ok.
Now, I would like to manage it from a remote Windows7 Virtualbox
workstation.
For that, I followed the following doc :
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_management_from_windows
I installed the RSAT component but when trying to connect the

creating standard curves for ELISA analysis
Hello R guru's
I am a newbie to R, In my research work I usually generate a lot of ELISA
data in form of absorbance values. I ususally use Excel to calculate the
concentrations of unknown, but it is too tedious and manual especially when
I have 100's of files to process. I would appreciate some help in creating
a R script to do this with minimal manual input. s A1-G1 and A2-G2 are
