I have this problem: there is a subnet 192.168.6.0/24 and the gateway is 192.168.6.1 which has also another nic 172.21.13.123 which belongs to subnet 172.21.13.0 where the PDC of NT-domain is. GW does NAT and it causes that computers/users in subnet 192.168.6.0 cant logon to NT-domain. I have two identical installations of samba v2.25 on linux boxes. On one system everything works fine but on the other, copies of smbd start but never terminate. Hey dovecot-users, clients that speak telnet based protocols like http, smtp usually encode IDN (International Domain Names) containing UTF-8 characters into ACE (ASCII Compatible Encoding) punycode. I am wondering what the case was with managesieve (RFC 5804). For example if I was using a username like "user@???.example.com" with the AUTHENTICATE command. Can Samba be used as a complete replacement for a Windows 2000 Active Directory server? I have some vague notion that this can be accomplished by using a combination of OpenLDAP, Samba, MIT Kerberos, and the OpenAFS file system.
