Memory problems when using ifelse
Dear R Users,

I seem to remember that R is not very efficient at creating/manipulating
large data frames. Did you consider doing it with a matrix w...

...cally. I have used 'te' command for two
way interaction of the smooth terms, plus some paramteric terms.
2. I am not sure how the gamm results are saved, and if prediction is at
all possible. The documentations talks about gam in detail, but not
gamm.
3. When I use my entire dataset (approx 58000 obs, and, well even with
10000 observations) I am running against memory all the time (it says
cannot allocate a vector of size 'some number). I used it on a 3GB RAM
machine and I am suspicious if it is something else.
Many thanks in advance,

DTMF not being sent ( RFC2833 )
...ri.
I compared the packet scan to what I saw on asterisk-pri and noticed that between 1 and 3 dtmfs were missing.
Problem 2 : Asterisk-pri loses some received DTMFs.
I also noticed that some of the DTMFs coming out of asterisk had the wrong Event Duration. I had one DTMF with a duration of about 58000 ( I believe that's 58 seconds ) but I only pressed the button for like 1/3 of a second.
What I do not understand is that I in my final test last night was using asterisk 1.6 current with centos ( os that asterisk is developed on from my understanding ) with all default settings ( excluding log...

concurrency errors adding to a keyed index
...:)
I''m testing by running my indexing script (which retrieves up to 1000
database records using ActiveRecord, adds to the index and exits) and
concurrently manually re-running a search on the index using my Rails
web interface. This is in a dev environment with only 1 user (me) and
about 58000 docs.
The error I get is along the lines of the following, with a different
filename each time:
IO Error occured at <except.c>:79 in xraise
Error occured in fs_store.c:324 - fs_open_input

high imap load on large folders
Hello,
i sync with imapsync from an archiopteryx-server to an dovecot-server, for
testing until now.
The dovecot is inside an VM. storage for mail is on an nfs-share, indexes
are local.
What i now see, is, on large folder( 58000 messages and more) the load
on the imap-process
is very high, and slowdown the transferprocess.
Is there something, I can do. Whats cause the high load ind the
imap-process.
Here are the configuration, and below, a partial strace
# 1.2.4: /opt/dovecot/etc/dovecot.conf
# OS: Linux 2.6.18-128.1.1...

Speed problem
Mermgfurt !
I have some problem with syncing two machines which are connected
over a Gigabit-connection. I'm trying to use rsync with ssh because of
the authorisation mechanisms (keys). It starts quite ok with 18 MB/s
(this small speed may have something to do with our internal net)
and falls down to 400 KB/s (!!!). This happens over a long period
because those files I want to copy are very
