The floppy has:

IPMI serial over lan disconnects seem to trigger extlinux reboots
...p me with this problem. I don't know whether
it's a problem with my configuration or a bug or feature in extlinux.
I am using an IPMI 2.0 serial-over-lan console to connect to a system
with an Intel S3200SHL motherboard. The first line of my extlinux.conf
file looks like this:
serial 0 57600 0x003
I am using ipmitool to access the console, like so:
ipmitool -f /etc/ipmi.passwd -U <user> -I lanplus -H <host> sol activate
I just converted this system from grub 0.97 to extlinux 4.05. The IPMI BMC
software on this system is pretty flaky. The IPMI serial-over-lan session

I am trying to get a CentOS 6.3 serial console to work with IPMI SOL. I think I

10.0.0.14 is the DRAC IP address of the CentOS 6.3 box. It accepts the password
and connects me to the console but then when I

[Bug 2565] New: High baud rate gets sent, solaris closes pty
...s at mindrot.org
Reporter: thogard at abnormal.com
It seems that trying to set the tty baud rate in Solaris to reasonable
modern values is broken resulting in the pseudo tty output being
closed. This effects Solaris 11.3 back to at least Sol 9.
I can replicate it from OS X:
stty ospeed 57600
ssh solaris
Password: ....
(no output)
I can force it 9600 to fix the problem with code that verifies the
problem and fixes it:
case TTY_OP_ISPEED_PROTO2 (and TTY_OP_OSPEED_PROTO2)
...
baud = packet_get_int();
+debug("ibaud=%d",baud);
+baud=9600;
On some clients (such as QNX) stty can...

IPMI serial over lan disconnects seem to trigger extlinux reboots
...oing wrong. There is some kind of bad interaction
occurring during the load of the initramfs. If I disable the IPMI serial
console session, the system boots fine. So it must be some strange interaction
between the IPMI BMC and Syslinux.
> You may want to turn serial interrupts on (serial 0 57600 0x00b) and see

I tried that, but it did not help. The system still tends to reboot while
loading the initramfs.

Palm Hotsync success...
...This
establishes a link from the serial port to the hotsync network
interface. I setup the hotsync on Palm for normal serial port sync and
press the hotsync button. Thats it. A complete hotsync is performed,
even with conduits being run and synced.
I have to start pi-nredir like this:
PILOTRATE=57600 pi-nredir /dev/pilot
Not giving the PILOTRATE default pi-nredir to 9600 baud which easily
causes hotsync.exe to timeout. /dev/pilot as a symbolic link to
/dev/ttyS0 (the serial port).
I run hotsync like this:
wine -desktop 640x480 Program\ Files/Palm/hotsync.exe
If I don't use the desktop...

Restricting number of nics seen by Domain 0
Is it possible to disable one of the (real) Ethernet interfaces from Xen so
that Domain 0 doesn''t see it? I.e. when the Domain 0 XenLinux boots up it
only has eth0 although there are actually two NICs in the machine. Would it
be possible to do this using the "nics=" parameter? I know this can be done
for doms>0 but get the impression Domain 0 is different.

Adding an MT9234ZBA-USB modem to CentOS6.3
How, exactly, does CentOS-6.3 with udev recognize an USB modem when it
is plugged in. How is it indicated? What other configuration is
required?
I can find the modem in /sys/class/tty and I can get the attributes
using udevadm but I do not see anything in ps that refers to the modem
device.
