Automatic printer driver installation for NT4.0/NT2000 clients?
...RINTER$ share suitable for NT4.0 or NT2000 clients either in the distribution (2.0.5a) or the web site. Is this possible at the moment (2.0.5a)? If so how? If not when will it be possible? Dual personality samba server
...e what I've got wrong. Anyone got any ideas? Oh, yes I have an smbusers file translating from NT user names (both domain qualified and not) working fine when it uses 'security = server' authentication. Further to: Samba screwed up when trying to save a word97 document
...s 1998/06/19 16:03:41 ukswi1000 (175.12.50.218) connect to service its as user bramsons (uid=10808,gid=11000) (pid 26308) and so on. Should I set oplocks = false ? I'd prefer not to for performance reasons. Cheers, -- Chris Stacey Unix Systems Administrator, Motorola ECID Tel: +44 (0)1793 565142 Fax: +44 (0)1793 565419 mailto: cstacey1@email.mot.com

Samba allows clients to mount sub-directories of shares - NT does n't ???
...aris 2.6 host. Although it is a nice feature, I don't want it because I can't support the same behaviour on our NT servers and that confuses users. Am I missing a switch or something? Samba screwed up when trying to save a word97 document
...rt the samba daemons. What problems might I cause for the clients by restarting samba? It would be nice if I could add and remove shares "on the fly." Is that planned? Project Cascade?
Hi all. I was wondering if anyone has heard of the new Sun product called Project Cascade? You can find more information about it at a link directly off the main sun.com page. I'm curious as to whether or not it will be as good as samba, and if people are going to think that an equivilent hasn't been around for quite some time... Dave
