Using a sidecar? Ideas?
I'm looking for some ideas of people who have setup a sidecar (eg: Aastra
560M).
Obviously it's handy for BLF (to see who's on a call)...but what else?
Anyone want to share interesting things they've done with a sidecar?

Off Topic: Aastra BLF limit...
Hi. Does anyone have a patch or workaround for the 50 BLF limit of
Aastra phones? I have a couple 57i with the 560M console and only the
first 50 BLF lines get registered. I am using the latest firmware from
Aastra but I read that this limit was imposed because of a memory leak.
Obviously my customer is complaining about these last 10 lines not
showing their status.

Removing/disabling console-kit-daemon
I was trying to optimize a minimum memory VM and realized that this
process was taking up over 560M of virt memory. On googling, it seems
to be a known issue and doesn't seem to be needed except for graphical
desktop. Although virt memory isn't actual memory usage, the daemon is
still taking up almost 4MB of limited memory, which on a VM with only
384MB feels relatively significant to me....

Attendant phone
Dear list,
I need to buy a phone which could monitor the state of the maximun number of
sip extensions about 200. It is for an attendant. I just saw Snom 370 with
keypad and Linksys 962 but they do not let me to monitor 200 extensions
states adding keypads.
Do you know any kind of phone that let me do that?
Which is the maximun number of extensions your phones can monitor and which

Advice on best operator phone (with attendant console)
One of our clients is using a Grandstream GXP2000 with an attendant
console. We have used the same phone with past clients successfully
however this particular operator processes around 200 calls a hours and
the GXP2000 for sure does not like the quick line shuffling and call
volume. We get the following problems randomly:
1. menu stops working
2. transfer key stops working
3. Line 1 LED gets

mirrors still catching up and -01.iso images?
...ome churn on the .iso images.
It appears that new -01.iso versions are coming downstream while some
of the mirrors apparently were getting different .iso images. The
-01.iso versions look to be significantly larger than the previous
non-01.iso versions (the -Minimal .iso appears to have gone from 560M
to 630M for -01.iso).
I'm not downloading the larger .iso image so don't know the actual
content, but the md5/sha files also changed and some of the mirrored
-01.iso versions appear to have different sizes (actually from the
timestamps it looks like the non-01.iso versions might have been...

Extension status as XML for an Aastra 57i
I'm in the process of converting our current hybrid key system to
Asterisk and Aastra 57i phones. One of the features that seems to be a
show stopper for almost everyone in the office is the inability to see
who is on the phone. Can someone point in the right direction to setup
an XML app on the phone so they can press a soft-button and get a list
of extensions and their statuses? I know I can

NVIDIA (including Optimus) laptop owners - please read!
Hi guys and gals,
I'm working on improving nouveau's support for MXM (Mobile PCI Express
Module) chips and need some more data to check my implementation.
To see if you can help, the first thing to do is jump over
to /sys/firmware/acpi/tables and run "grep MXMS *".
[root at nisroch tables]# grep MXMS *
