DNAcopy package in R
Hi All:
Has anyone analyzed Illumina 550K data using DNAcopy package? I have around
2300 samples. According to
Venkatraman and Olshen 2007 paper, it needs about 25 min to run a single
sample for Affymetrix 100K. I am afraid it will take too long to analyzed my
data. Anybody has an idea? Thanks!
Best,

Booting non Linux Os
Hello,
I have been trying to use PXELINUX to boot a non Linux OS (QNX6). It
works if I set the image to be of type .bs (BOOT SECTOR). However this
only works if the file is below ~550K. If I go over that size the screen
gets fill with gargabe ;-) I think that's because the image is meant to
be load by the QNX6 loader. It doesn't have a BIOS signature but rather
a custom signature. I'm not sure because I don't really know what I'm
talking about !
I have tried...

Automatic site selection for dowload
I would like to ask that more flexibility be built into automatically
choosing sites for downloading.
I have just upgraded to CentOS 5.2. When I look for a mirror, I get many
choices from Taiwan. Since I am in Hong Kong this makes sense
geographically but .... not in terms of bandwidth.
Although Taiwan is very close, it is almost the slowest connection I can
make. Some .jp sites are good

Some performance questions with ZFS/NFS/DNLC at snv_48

while now, just added another 7x300G raidz2 today but I''ll stick to old
information so far. Tried Sol10u2 before, but nfs writes killed every
bit of performance, snv_48 works much better in that regard.
Working data set is about 1.2TB over ~550k inodes right now. Backend
serves data to 2-4 linux frontends running Apache (with local raid0
mod_disk_cache), rsync (looking through entire debian trees every now
and then) and vsftp (not used much).
There are (at least?) two types of performance issues we''ve run into..

The sessionInfo() output is below, but I think relatively unremarkable.
The dataset is very large (about 550K observations, although the outcome

error when there is just one continuous variable and o...

Hardware Requirements for qdisc htb/sfq
I am planning to replace our cisco 7200 core router with Linux. We
currently serve around 1500 (3/4 DSL - different router) customers with
probably half of them being concurrent at any given time.
We have a fiber network and customers currently aren''t managed as far as
how much bandwidth they can use at anytime. Therefore I have constructed
a working tc qdisc Linux router as a test. It

their releases (inc. the latest one), all of them giving me the same syntax

Anyone seen this problem before? its not the "lib" argument that is the
problem (ive been installing other packages using this exact format with no
problem... just zoo is the problem.

xcalls - mpstat vs dtrace
HI,
T5220, S10U4 + patches
mdb -k
> ::memstat
While above is working (takes some time, ideally ::memstat -n 4 to use 4 threads could be useful) mpstat 1 shows:
CPU minf mjf xcal intr ithr csw icsw migr smtx srw syscl usr sys wt idl
48 0 0 1922112 9 0 0 8 0 0 0 15254 6 94 0 0
So about 2mln xcalls per second.
Let''s check with dtrace:
