Disk full / file corrupted
...em.
Samba share /mnt/.sharedDisk folder.
On my windows XP pc I map this share as network drive.
In drive properties I see, avail only 1.5K free disk space
However, I can open existed BMP image (10K size) with MS Paint, resize
image and save. Paint alert me disk is full.
Now my BMP image size is 54K, and corrupted.
Why 54K if only 1.5K avail?
Above example with MS Paint.
If I use MS Wordpad in same scenario (Save more data than avail) Wordpad
alert me in half of the cases.
This problem is very important for me.
I thinking, this problem with Paint and Wordpad and have been do some

Direct X not found?!
I? trying to run Rome: Total War over steam, through wine. It used to run, and run nearly perfectly, however, with the latest release it throws a: Direct X 9 not found error! Help would be greatly appreciated, especially if I can avoid having to delete my .wine folder, because I have SO many applications. Thanks!

quick question
Timo (and anyone else who feels like chiming in),
I was just wondering if you'd be able to tell me if the amount of
corruption I see on a daily basis is what you consider "average" for our
current setup and traffic. Now that we are no longer experiencing any
core dumps with the latest patches since our migration from courier two
months ago, I'd like to know what is expected

unaccounted for daily growth in ZFS disk space usage
We finally flipped the switch on one of our ZFS-based servers, with
approximately 1TB of 2.8TB (3 stripes of 950MB or so, each of which is
a RAID5 volume on the adaptec card). We have snapshots every 4 hours
for the first few days. If you add up the snapshot references it
appears somewhat high versus daily use (mostly mail boxes, spam, etc
changing), but say an aggregate of no more than 400+MB a

...t might be the main cause of the slowness.
smbclient/linux:
With smbclient as client, the picture is quite different. The main
interaction is that the client sends
a TRANS2_FIND_FIRST2 request and the server responds with a a
TRANS_FIND_FIRST2 response
indicating a data size to come of 54K. The server proceeds to send
continuation messages
until the whole 54K of response has been transmitted (only pausing for
acks when the TCP transmit
window is exhausted).
So in this case, really only one significant request/response
interaction took place.
