Tinc performance on a Dir-300
Hi,
we are using Tinc in our Freifunk Network in Oldenburg for internode
connections over the internet. So Tinc is running on OpenWrt 10.03 on Dlink
Dir-300 Routers.
We all have enough internet bandwith (1,6 MB/sec and more) but we only get a
maximum speed of ~350KB/sec between two tinc nodes because then tinc uses 99%
of the cpu.
Is it possible to get more Speed with tinc on this machines?

CentOS 4.5 and CentOS 5.0 News
Hi,
I use CentOS as a firewall/proxy/webserver/fileserver
in my small network. As the small-spec machine with
CentOS is heavily loaded/used I can't afford downtime.
20 GB, pentium II with only 128 MB RAM.
However I want to know the news on 4.5 is it due soon?
Can I gain more by running CentOS 3.x range on such an
old machine like mine?
Will CentOS 5.0 mean you need a minimum of 512 RAM?

dmz2dmz?
Hi
My situation:
I have two pc''s with public ip''s (192.159.56.206(webserver) and
84.196.123.65(mail-gateway)) in the dmz. The firewall (84.196.123.66) is
configures with proxyarp, so nothing is changed on the pc''s from when they
were not behind the firewall (i.e. they don''t have the firewall as gateway
(and they each have different gateways, only 84.196.123.65

RE: CentOS Digest, Vol 23, Issue 30
...B?).
Also on an AMD 486 clone (x586?) 100MHz with 36MB of memory.
Only differences observed seem related to half/full duplex nature of the
NICs and raw speed. With my cable being in the "boonies" and a stock
Toshiba cable model, good sites get me 600-700 kChars/sec on the
Pentium, appx. 530K/sec on the AMD and 460K/sec on the Aptiva.
With that in hand, Aleksandr's staple, $20 machinces, should fit in your
scenario very nicely. Like him, I have a bunch of those (even some $10
ones - 386SX comes to mind). Find justification for their continued
existence seems to be my biggest probl...

Extremely slow zpool scrub performance
Running a zpool scrub on our production pool is showing a scrub rate
of about 400K/s. (When this pool was first set up we saw rates in the
MB/s range during a scrub).
Both zpool iostat and an iostat -Xn show lots of idle disk times, no
above average service times, no abnormally high busy percentages.
Load on the box is .59.
