sched provider
Hi All, I used the following script from the dtrace manual to measure how long a particular process runs on the cpu. Modified it to look at the exact timestamps: sched:::on-cpu { self->ts = timestamp; printf("on=%d\n", self->ts) } sched:::off-cpu /self->ts/ { printf("off=%d\n", timestamp) self->ts = 0; } The output looks like this: on=24591 off=24603

Indexing Mail faster
Hi, I am trying to get faster search results on our webmail client(Roundcube). Besides using Lucene for FTS are there other options? Would having all mails indexed give fast results? Currently the time it takes to search 25,000mails is 4mins. If indexed how much faster are we looking at? Really appreciate if someone could advise about this. Thanks Kevin

ntp queries not being answered
Hello All, My name is Gaurav, and I am tasked with configuring a linux box with NTP. I am having a problem that I hope you can help me with. We have installed CentOS V5 on 1 processor down in the lab. The rest of the processors on the network are AIX boxes versions 3.2.5 and 5.2. I worked through the entire initial NTP configuration; setup the /etc/ntp.conf file to point to the server, etc.
