The machine get no more than 2-3% average cpu(2.4Ghz pentium). What happens is that from time to time the traffic got "stalled". I tried numerous things to solve the p...

tcng not working as expected
Hi, Looking at the following sample, shouldn''t the client1_a be restricted to 35kBps even when there is 50kBps available. Please see the following configuration and suggest. What I wanted to do is I have clients grouped on VIP and Poor. The VIP clients and poor clients may be subscribed with the same bandwidth but I would like to prioritize the VIP clients. The VIP client will get the allocated rate. If VI...

One question about comparison between HE-AAC v2 and CELT
Hi , I visited celt website. I saw the comparison between AAC-LD with celt. But how about the HE-AAC? If the scenario is that we limit the bandwidth to 50kbps, will music encoded by HE-AAC v2 be better than CELT? What's HE-AAC v2's delay? Thank you very much. imq config
Dear all, I know this is not imq mailing list. But many of the users over here have done exactly what i want. Requirement:- I want to tight bound eth1 for 100 kbps but after i want to create many classes of 64 kbps or 50 kbps and others. But the total sum of classes is more than 100 kbps so my eth1 is not restrciting total bandwidth at 100kbps. According to search on google imq is the solution.

Outlook 2010 very slow when using IMAP - are there any tweaks?
...in Dovecot to work better with Outlook? I guess one could get sidetracked into the argument of mdbox vs. Maildir from my config however, Thunderbird is really fast and transfers large amounts of data really easily. Reaches round 130Mbps using nload performance grapher, while Outlook only manages ~50kbps but spikes at 2-3Mbps on occassion. Can anyone offer any guidence or assistance in this matter?? Actually wherever I run Dovecot, including my servers at home, it is fast and reliable. Yes I know MS is the polar opposite of anything worth using however, my company won't change and I'm s...

my shaping rules wont work on nat box
I am currently running the following script on an internal machine to shape outbound ftp and email traffic. I am trying to move the script to my nat router (ipcop with 2 nic cards) so that it shapes the whole network and not only the outbound of 1 box. I have cable modem -> ipcop (eth1) >(eth0 - 192.168.1.1) > 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.101. The scripts works great running on

Upload shaper problem

I have the following shapers RT1 ETH2 - dedicated bandwidth for Test PC 40kbps RT2 ETH4 - dedicated bandwidth for Test PC 30kbps RT2 ETH4 - dedicated bandwidth for users to upload is 250kbps The thing is if I use Test PC to download from RT1 it makes straight line of 40kbps. If I use TestPC to download from RT2 the traffic varies from 3kbps to 30kbps. It is very random. If I start a transfer on RT1 from RT2 I can see there is much bandwidth available I can use 230kbps. We simul...

Need cbq or htb optimal solution
...s the scenario I have a total Bandwidth of 2Mbps for a private LAN I am managing. I am using cbq standard script available online and for controlling bandwidth, squid and iptables. I have diff. packages for client. One: server own services access (unlimited bandwidth means no delays or control) + 50Kbps Internet bandwidth Two: server own services (unlimited) + 30Kbps Internet bandwidth Three: server own services (unlimited) + 15Kbps Internet bandwidth Now I have to distribute speed between these clients, which are around 120. If I calculate I should have over 4Mbps total bandwidth. Currently I...
