Tyan Thunder K8SE S2892 Report
...oc/cpuinfo showed each cpu running at 2009.267 Mhz with 4014.08
bogomips. Ah, much better! In addition, the system came up in with NUMA
enabled. Looks like the Red Hat kernel had it turned off by default.
I benchmarked disk array performance using Bonnie++ version 1.03a. I ran
six benchmarks using 50GB of data, three using 16k blocks and three
using 64k blocks. During the raid 0 testing I had two instances of
Setiathome running. During the raid 5 testing I had three instances of
Setiathome running. Here are the results:

solution design for a large scale (> 50G) R computing problem
...change A, B_i, would it be possible to do in R 1)
share A across different processes and 2) use memory mapped file to load B_i
(even A at the beginning)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you use the --convert option.

ZFS, block device and Xen?
Hi There,
I looked at the ZFS admin guide in attempt to find a way to leverage ZFS
capabilities (storage pool, mirroring, dynamic stripping, etc.) for Xen
domU file systems that are not ZFS. Couldn''t find an answer whether ZFS
could be used only as a "regular" volume manager to create logical
volumes for UFS or even a Linux ext2fs, with ideally, the ability to

Regular expression to define contents between parentheses

myvector<-c("something (80 km/h, sd) & more (6 kg/L,sd)", "somethingelse (48 m/s, sd) & moretoo (50g/L , sd)")
I want to extract all the strings that are not contained in parenthesis, the goal would be to obtain the following new vector:
subvector<-c("something & more", "somethingelse & moretoo")
I tried the following, but this pattern seems to enclose all th...
