search for: 50comupd

...hru the "building font metrics" phase, which takes forever, but i've seen 1 program run successfully, so something must be working.. When I try to run the setup for icq2000b, it goes thru all the fonts twice before actually running, and then I get a message saying I need a file called 50comupd.exe .. I downloaded that file, and have tried putting it in "c:\", "c:\windows", and "c:\windows\system" None of those locations seem to appease this darn thing.. Any ideas there?? I did a forum search and found 16 pages for uninstalling wine. Only one was semi-helpful. Anyone have any luck installing ICQ2000b on a clean Wine system (i.e. not using the native Windows drive, but rather creating a clean one, as the instructions say for a non-Windows system?) I've tried it and it says that something isn't installed, and it needs 50comupd.exe from the M$ site. So I get that, installs OK. But ICQ2000b installer _still_ complains it's not there. Maybe im the only one.. but I find putting the message type [WINE] in the header a very usefull tool when ppl like me get alot of mail... anyway, I tried to install the new version of ICQ using wine, and I got a bad version for '50comupd.exe' (which is com components), wine iteself installs 4.01 , not 5.0 . I installed 5.0, and it seems to install correctly, however I guess it doesnt do it properly (or isnt set in the registry maybe?), because its like it isnt there, and still complains about not having 5.0 (its still using 4.0...
