Extremely slow zpool scrub performance
Running a zpool scrub on our production pool is showing a scrub rate of about 400K/s. (When this pool was first set up we saw rates in the MB/s range during a scrub). Both zpool iostat and an iostat -Xn show lots of idle disk times, no above average service times, no abnormally high busy percentages. Load on the box is .59. 8 x 3GHz, 32GB ram, 96 spindles arranged into raidz zdevs on OI 147.

EFI 64bit and Kernel 32 bit [redux]
Hi Apologies for referring back to an old thread, but in this conversation https://www.syslinux.org/archives/2018-October/026198.html Thomas and Ady seemed to suggest that booting 32-bit linux from 64-bit EFI was possible with the patched 6.04-pre version of syslinux that Debian are using. When I try this, all I get is Loading ../../bzImage...ok Loading ../../imgpt4.gz...ok and then nothing.

Gnumeric
Hi, I am trying to install Gnumeric in CentOS 4 and I can't. It complains about quite a few dependencies failing. It suggested installing some postgresql librairies, openldap librairies... I did that, now I still get: dependencies failed: libmdb/libmdbsq/libsqlite/libxbase/libtds. Is there a yum repository that has them or a yum repository for gnumeric? I have tried Dag, he does not, he

recognizing correct number of cores on CPU
I just installed centos 5.5 x86_64 on a new HP laptop. It has the core i5 processor. only 1 cpu is detected should be 2. This has happened before. Is upstream not keeping up with new processors released and updating the kernel? I'd rather not go through the process again of putting a newer kernel on the machine and having something different out there than "stock" centos. Jerry
