ActiveState Perl, cygwin and R (was: cygwin tar?)
Hello!
I have just read mails in thread
<http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/devel/04a/0583.html>
about problems with Cygwin and Rtools. I had the same problems and kept
just the newest cygwin1.dll and things seem OK now. However I
currently hit the problem with Perl (I have ActiveState and Cygwin Perl
installed). When I tried to work with 'Rdconv' in Cygwin I get the following:

Hi, R team.
I'm trying to build a dll from a c program to be invoked within R using

command window or a Bash window) the command
Rcmd SHLIB myfun.c

duplicated() variation that goes both ways to capture all duplicates
Dear all
The trouble with the current duplicated() function in is that it can
report duplicates while searching fromFirst _or_ fromLast, but not
both ways. Often users will want to identify and extract all the
copies of the item that has duplicates, not only the duplicates
themselves.
To take the example from the man page:
> data(iris)

how to update from 5.8 to 5.latest?
Hi!
I revived an old disk with CentoS 5.8 on it and want to update it to
5.latest (=5.11). However, it insists on getting 5.8 files. From the past
I remember I would get a major release jump from 5.n to 5.m automatically.
Or do I remember this wrong?
I googled a bit around, but couldn't really find something similar.
How do I update now? The repo file looks exactly like on machines that

Upgrading from 5.7 to 5.8
My box did upgrade itself automatically from the
initial 5.5 DVD installation to 5.7
How can I tell if my box has been automatically upgraded
from 5.7 to 5.8 please?
I see the CentOS-CR.repo is still in my /etc/yum.repos.d/
directory. Is that repo responsible for doing the automatic
upgrades for Centos 5.x?
Kind Regards,

Hi,
any one has successfully joined a Windows 7 workstation to a samba (3.0.33) domain on CentOS 5.8?

Thx,

php-pear missing from 5.8 (i386) metadata?
Hi,
# yum install php-pear
<snip>
No package php-pear available.
Nothing to do
This is on CentOS 5.8 (i386). The package is available for both archs on
the two mirrors I checked. I also tried a
# yum clean headers
# yum clean metadata
# yum clean dbcache
to no avail. Am I missing something or is it the metadata?
Regards,
Leonard.

Incorrect @INC: Rcmd SHLIB error under Windows (2.6.2, 44383) (PR#11165)
Has your environment variable path been set correctly?
It's been a while that I'm not using R under windows but remember had
experienced the same error. I remember that I had to put many paths as
environment variable to build R packages properly.
