Has been working for 9 Months - Very Very Strange I cannot dial specific extensions from my dialplan - NOT A CONTEXT PROBLEM!!
Hi all, I've an asterisk 1.2.5 running very well for about a 9 months, and suddenly i cannot dial extensions 4XXX from SIP Phones. Now comes the wired stuff... I can dial this extensions from IAX phones as well as from Analogue extensions connected to our legacy pbx, that is installed on front of asterisk. So : Zapata Calls to SIP extensions 4XXX - OK IAX to SIP 4XXX-OK SIP to SIP 4XXX - BROKEN but not for...

What would make Asterisk Ignore INVITES?
Hi all, As i have already posted, i'm noticing a strange problem on my * server: It seems to me Asterisk is simply ignoring some of invites sent from my xlite 3.0. If i dial 2XXX numbers, all ok. If i dial 4XXX numbers that aren't accounts on asterisk i get answer from asterisk. If i dial 4XXX numbers that exist on my server nothing happens and i get call failed: Request timeout. Calls from PSTN to this SIP extensions 4XXX work FINE. The context is fine, this was working for long time. suddenly see...

IAX, IAX2 and authenticatyion
...hentication. How can I know if IAX or IAX2 is used between two * servers? There is any guide about how to configure encrypted authentication (not in clear text)between two * servers? I "hear" on this list a couple of days ago that port 5036 is the default one for IAX and something else (4XXX) for IAX2. Trying 'iax show channels' in CLI during an active channel between the two * servers shows me that IAX is used. What to do to use IAX2 instead? Which are the main differences between IAX and IAX2? Thanks a lot, Dan

load balancing SIP extensions
...e then try to look it up on *2 and establish the call there I tried to use DUNDi on my local servers but I can't seem to make it work. Most howtos out there explain the use of DUNDi when the extension ranges do not overlap. So in my case where both *1 and *2 have the same local extension range 4XXX, can I go the DUNDi route or should I stop bashing my head on that and explore another solution? If someone has configured a similar system then I'd greatly appreciate some tips. I read a few dundi docs like http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-DUNDi. Thanks ________________________________...

directory mask = 2770
Hello everyone. I am using Samba 2.0.7 on a RedHat 6.2 machine. I wanted to apply a directory mask of 2770 to everything created in a share. The root directory of this share already has these permissions. I want to have it so that everything created in a certain directory has the permissions of the group of the creator. As it stands, I do have the directory mask = 2770 line in the smb.conf

Incoming Calls causing Protocol Error (6)
Hi Everyone, Got a setup as follows: Telco ----> Siemens HiCom 300E <----> Asterisk1 <----IAX2 Trunk----> Asterisk2 <----> Siemens HiPath 4xxx The solution works except for one problem. Incoming calls from the telco get redirected to the Asterisk1 box with the correct extention, only if there is a callerid set on the call, the Asterisk1 box drops the call (it doesn't even get to asterisk) with a "Unable to handle pre-handled cal...

Printing via smbclient to Windows BJC-2100 printer
...it was already set to that. Changing it back to EMF did not alter the outcome. On a lark I changed the connection from bidirectional to uni-, and the outcome was indeed different-- the printer status box never came up. Changing it back restored it. I've seen advice for the BJC-610 and the -4xxx series of printers before. Has anyone had success printing to a 2100? Is there a recommended set of filters/etc. that I might be able to employ on the sending (NetBSD) end? I am operating under the theory that what smbclient is sending to the share might not be in a language the 2100 can underst...

CentOs 6.4 and video drivers
The release notes for CentOS 6.4 state as follows: > With this release the ABI for the X.org video drivers changes, > possibly resulting in a failing X-Session. If you are running 3rd > party drivers - i.e. vBox addons, nVidia, ATI or ELRepo - you need to > ensure a compatible driver is loaded. I use flgrx from ELRepo. Does this mean that fglrx is now incompatible with CentOS? Yves

Integrating * with Mitel SX2000 Lite
Hi All, Our experience with * to date has been a bit limited. It's a 4xCisco 7960 network, linking our head office with a faraday caged datacenter. As a way of putting voicecomms into a sealed room, it was quick and easy to deploy, and works very well. As typically happens, we've now thought about extending the use of asterisk - and a new opportunity has cropped up. In three months

USB Cordless
Does anyone know if X-Ten or SJPhone support multiple cordless handsets for multiple lines? I have an office with multiple roaming users(nurses) that are in and out. I'd like to provide them telephones, and my idea is to have a PC sitting in a corner somewhere running a softphone client. When a nurse comes in she just picks up any available handset(anywhere from 2-5 per office) and starts
