NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
Is anyone using NUT to signal/control vCenter and vServer (6.x) for shutdown when batteries are getting low? Any recommendations? We've found https://4sysops.com/archives/startup-and-shutdown-a-vmware-cluster-with-powercli-and-powershell/ but I'd prefer to do this from the master (which is running CentOS 8) and not pollute it by installing PS on it. thanks, nomad -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Add a new template for GPO Administration
Good Evening! How Can I add a new template for GPO policy in Samba4, where a user can open any web browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc.) and have a Default home page? Thanks! Share users across domains
...one group. Then you create a OU (Organizational Unit) for the admin computers and put all the admin computers into that OU. After that you create a gpo in the OU that contains all your admin computers. In this gpo you can deny login for the students group as describe on the following site https://4sysops.com/archives/deny-and-allow-workstation-logons-with-group-policy/ All this can be done using the Remote Server Administration Tool (RSAT) by running "dsa.msc" and "gpmc.msc" on the machine which has the RSAT installed. Roaming profiles
Hi, Just a quick question about Roaming Profiles : Is there a way to force Windows to use Roaming Profils only on the share network, and without local copy ? I set Roaming Profile on a samba share with a GPO, but some users have a big profile so login is very slow Thanks Tom

pam_winbind and offline logon
Hi all! As a long slackware user I'm a total noob in pam and I'm banging my head against a wall trying to set it up correctly to play nice with slackware's default pam configuration. One of the things I'm trying to accomplish is to be able to logon while the ad domain is available and have pam_mount automount the samba shares and to be able to do an offline logon and skip the

Best practice for creating an RO LDAP User in AD...
Caming from Samba in NT mode with OpenLDAP backend i've created a bunch of ''things'' (apps, web tools, ...; but also printers and so on) that rely on reading ''public'' data in LDAP. With OpenLDAP ''public'' was a easy concept: anonymous access was the default, and ACL protect more sensitive data (mostly, passwords). Now i've to redo some

Samba4 DC/AD documents created in redirected folders with bogus UID
I just noticed that my fresh install of Samba 4.2.3 has the same behaviour. I have a share (\\samba\it_share)) and some users when creating files have the UID as 3000000 and some have their correct UIDs. Share permissons are being controlled by Windows ACLs.
