PATH directive rules
...for the relevant lib*.c32 file(s) in the directory where
ldlinux.c32 is located.
Then the lib*.c32 files are searched-for according to the PATH
directive, as follows:
3_ Search for the relevant lib*.c32 file(s) in the paths indicated by
the PATH directive, in the same order as they are stated.
4_ Each path used in each PATH directive is appended to the end of
the list of the searched-for paths previously set.
So, I have several questions.
1_ Am I understanding the PATH rules correctly?
2_ From the user's perspective, are there any differences (or
different behaviors) between each Sy...

OT: Script Help
Sorry for the off topic, but don't a better resource. I'm not great at
scripting, but need a quick script to modify a file.
I have a long file that has lines like this:
some text
some text2
CN=DATA.OU=XYZ.O=CO
some text3
some text4
And this repeats, but XYZ changes. "DATA" is always called data. (it's
being renamed basically)
I need to change the middle line but leave

Request for the Admin
To the Syslinux mailing list administrator(s):
There seem to be some issue when searching the Syslinux mailing list
archives.
To replicate (example):
1_ Open a Google web search page
2_ Search for "site:http://www.syslinux.org/archives/"
3_ Click "Search tools"
4_ Limit the search to "Past month".
Result: no match!
This has been happening for about 10 months or so.
A few mailing list search repositories / engines had kept caching the
Syslinux mailing list until a few months ago, even after Google
stopped.
I know of at least one such mailing l...

I/O error
Thanks. I've looked through all the links, and it seems everything is
fine wrt. to what was mentioned there (I've disabled 64 bits in mke2fs,
but it didn't help). I'd be glad to provide more details, but the error
message is the only info I've got by now. It seems nothing else can be
got from syslinux shell without modifiying the code.
I've tried to make it load the kernel

newbie questions
...r end recognize the bit rate of the speex stream?
Is it encoded in-band, or it has to be set manually?
(for example in a SIP client there is a speex codec option. but does
that mean
that it supports only one bitrate or all?)
3. Was there anyone successfully compiling speex lib under win32 _for
ARM 4_
into a windows .lib file?
4. Is there an ACM codec of speex for ARM4 platforms like pocket PC or
smartphone 2003?
Thank you!
Best regards,

Samba43 on FreeBDS10.3 ldap db contents
I am working through the book _Implementing Samba 4_ and revalidating
my existing install. I am at the point where I need to check the
contents of the ldap database. The instructions in the book say to do
this:
ldapsearch -x -h localhost -s base - \
Dcn=Administrator,cn=Users,dc=server-02,dc=domain-02,dc=harte-lyne,dc=ca
-W

Yes, chosing a 'label' should be possible.
Changing the behaviour of the label not.

For example, the first line of a DISPLAY file is not seen, because
the prompt uses that same line. The prompt should appear AFTER the

4_ When using cat.c32 to display the content of a file, if the

In 4.06, the behavior is not ideal either. The less-than-one-line
file is displayed, and the prompt shows in the same line after the

git repo: primary/secondary/unofficial
I'm starting this thread to discuss what git repository should be
designated as primary and which repositories should be designated as
secondary.
For years, git.kernel.org has been the primary repo, updated at least
with every full and pre- release. git.zytor.com has been the
secondary and development repo.
Additionally, I've maintained my repos at github.com and git.zytor.com

an error or a bug in Syslinux itself. Syslinux-related packages, their

5_ For [MENU] GAPPEND, if the resulting command is manually edited in
