Error: vector memory exhausted (limit reached?)
While runing R1.3.0 on a Win95 machine, a process has produced the following error: Error: vector memory exhausted (limit reached?) In addition: Warning message: Reached total allocation of 47Mb: see help(memory.size) Lost warning messages Now I cannot save the work (not too bad, I had used save.image() just prior to launch the process), but cannot quit the program: > save.image() Error: vector memory exhausted (limit reached?) Memory Leak
...sing the uploads. I thought this would solve the problem, but it hasn''t changed. It''s working well and uploads are taking place much quicker. However, after uploading a file, the memory usage of the Thin process jumps WAY up and never comes back down. Memory goes from about 46-47Mb while just surfing around the site and creating normal assets, to about 225+Mb after uploading a video and never drops. The only thing I can think of is that it may be re-parsing the file when Paperclip tries to get its metadata (content_type, size, etc.). Even if that were the case, I would expec...

kernel-plus PXE virt-install with Xen?
...ny complete Google answers and was looking for help making sure I choose the correct approach. I've tried to build an initrd.img from a kernel-plus booting system via "mkinitrd -f -v /boot/initrd.img $(uname -r)", but the file size is less than half the one from CentOS 7.4 (17MB -vs- 47MB). I'm not even sure I can just replace those files yet either. Any help going the correct path? Thanks PJ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... UEFI syslinux PXE boot issues
...placed the syslinux.efi file only, and I got a lot more success. I symlinked the pxelinux.cfg dir and images so it could find the files it needed. Then I got the prompt, I typed "install" to trigger that menu item and it transferred the vmlinuz file (14sec for 11MB). Then the initrd (47MB), which takes a long time, but does not ever show the "ok", even after the transfer was complete (as far as I could tell from the TFTP server), which takes more than a minute. after some seconds of nothing happening, it just reboots... Can anyone help met out here? Regards, AL13N

Samba Client with Windows XP share slow performance
I'm getting awful performance when trying to write to our new NAS and/or a Windows XP share. In short, I'm getting just under 1/2 the speed that I can get if I mount a Linux share on the Windows box and send the files that way. Here are the test results: >From XP to Linux via FTP 47MB/sec >From XP to Linux via SAMBA 40MB/sec >From Linux to XP via CIFS 21MB/sec Now, this is much better than the performance I am getting from our SuSE 9.3 stock servers using the 2.6.5 kernel. This can only get about 10MB/sec. We have tried many different socket options with little to show...

Very slow samba performance on Centos 6
Hello all, I have 2 identical Dell r510 servers with 10gig card, running centos 6 with samba-3.5.4-68.el6_0.2.x86_64. I setup 16G ramdisk samba share on both and ran cp from local ramdisk to samba ramdisk mount. If I cp 12 1-gig files, I get combined 100MB/s transfer rate. Single file cp maxes out at about 15MB/s. Ftp transfer give me over 300MB/s. Running with 9000 MTU. Most smb.conf is

[LLVMdev] InstCombine adds bit masks, confuses self, others
Look at this silly function: $ cat small.c unsigned f(unsigned a, unsigned *p) { unsigned x = a/4; p[0] = x; p[1] = x+x; return p[1] - 2*p[0]; } GCC turns this into straightforward code and figures out the 0 return value: shrl $2, %edi movl %edi, (%rsi) addl %edi, %edi movl %edi, 4(%rsi) movl $0, %eax ret LLVM optimizes the code: $ clang -O -S -o- small.c -emit-llvm define i32

Slow rsync Performance

I have a server running RedHat Linux 7.2 (2 CPU, 4 Gb RAM) and 6 client machines running RedHat linux 7.1 ( 1 cpu(2Ghz),512 Mb RAM ). I am backing up the client machine every 15 minutes since these machines generates important data. I am using rsync as a cron job on the server to backup

ZDB returning strange values
...#39;'s 0x20000 = 128k data plus 0x10000 = two parities). However on one file I have a series of two DVA entries, sized 0x39000 + 0x3000. The file is not copies=2 as far as I know, but can be compressed and/or deduped. Samples of zdb output are attached below; the strange output goes on for all 47Mb of the file in 128kb increments. Can someone plz help explain these values? :) On a side note, what''s the easiest way to retrieve the block pointer (and checksum) pointing to a certain block of file''s contents, and how can I recalculate the SHA256 checksum for the block''...
