[RFC v4 0/3] vhost: introduce mdev based hardware backend
This RFC is to demonstrate below ideas,
a) Build vhost-mdev on top of the same abstraction defined in
the virtio-mdev series [1];
b) Introduce /dev/vhost-mdev to do vhost ioctls and support
setting mdev device as backend;
Now the userspace API looks like this:
- Userspace generates a compatible mdev device;
- Userspace opens this mdev device with VFIO API (including
doing IOMMU

[PATCH 0/7] virtio cleanups
Aiming these for coming merge window.
Nothing should change, but get ready for a non-guest-endian config transports,

Final one is just an overdue consolidation.

[patch 00/17] paravirt_ops updates
Hi Andi,
This series of patches updates paravirt_ops in various ways. Some of the
changes are plain cleanups and improvements, and some add some interfaces
necessary for Xen.
The brief overview:
add-MAINTAINERS.patch - obvious
remove-CONFIG_DEBUG_PARAVIRT.patch - no longer needed
paravirt-nop.patch - mark nop operations consistently
paravirt-pte-accessors.patch - operations to pack/unpack

[patch 00/20] paravirt_ops updates
Hi Andi,
Here's a repost of the paravirt_ops update series I posted the other day.
Since then, I found a few potential bugs with patching clobbering,
cleaned up and documented paravirt.h and the patching machinery.
Overview:
add-MAINTAINERS.patch
obvious
remove-CONFIG_DEBUG_PARAVIRT.patch
No longer meaningful or needed.
paravirt-nop.patch

[PATCH libnbd 0/4] Add free function to callbacks.
Patches 1 & 2 are rather complex, but the end result is that we pass
closures + user_data + free function in single struct parameters as I
described previously in this email:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2019-August/msg00210.html
Patch 3 adds a convenient FREE_CALLBACK macro which seems a worthwhile
simplification if you buy into 1 & 2.
Patch 4 adds another macro which is

[PATCH v16 00/14] qspinlock: a 4-byte queue spinlock with PV support
v15->v16:
- Remove the lfsr patch and use linear probing as lfsr is not really
necessary in most cases.
- Move the paravirt PV_CALLEE_SAVE_REGS_THUNK code to an asm header.
- Add a patch to collect PV qspinlock statistics which also
supersedes the PV lock hash debug patch.
- Add PV qspinlock performance numbers.
v14->v15:
- Incorporate PeterZ's v15 qspinlock patch and improve

[PATCH 00/22] New virtio PCI layout
I've renewed this again, with some comments from HPA. I've tried to
keep the new patches separate, so you can see the changes since we
last discussed this (and so it's easy to back it out if we decide it's
insane).
I haven't even looked at the QEMU side so this is completely untested.
Comments gratefully received!
Rusty.
