cor() alternative for huge data set
Hi,
I am have a data set of around 43000 probes(rows), and have to calculate correlation matrix. When I run cor function in R, its throwing an error message of RAM shortage which was obvious for such huge number of rows. I am not getting a logical way to cut off this huge number of entities, is there an alternative to pearson correlation or with other dist() methods calculation(euclidean) that

balancer as well(I suspect not because there's no apparent setting for
that).
Currently I have the system configured to take a lower amount of traffic,
hovering at around 47% CPU, at around 833 req/s and it has 43k
connections in these states:

inaccurate, it reports only ~10 a...

...ng would be
helpful. Here is what I have so far.
Within a half an hour of a reboot of the server my cpu reaches high numbers
and becomes slow to respond on all actions. With my limited understanding I
have used vmstat to observe the system. I noticed is that the numbers of
forks grows from 1-2k to 43k within 30 minutes after reboot. I saw a dns
error in a log file at one point but now I don?t remember where. I am
running samba 4.1.9 compiled with internal dns. I have 2 other DC?s that
are not properly replicating and a third that is completely silent even
when the FSMO is crashing. Here are s...

Samba 2.2.7 terrible slow with Windows XP SP1
...eable = yes

; Supressed info about other shares & printers
; ======= END SMB.CONF ===========================
I decided to use TCPDUMP to verify what it is happening and I discovered
that Windows XP client is fetching the whole folder tree listing (we
have almost 43K files using 2.5 GB).
A simple open and save file (a small Excel worksheet with18 kb) used
almost 8000 tcp packets. The same test using a Windows 98 workstation
worked flawlessly (It didn't pump the whole directory tree).
My Windows XP SP1 PRO clients have Web Client disabled and I have

Extremely slow zpool scrub performance
Running a zpool scrub on our production pool is showing a scrub rate
of about 400K/s. (When this pool was first set up we saw rates in the
MB/s range during a scrub).
Both zpool iostat and an iostat -Xn show lots of idle disk times, no
above average service times, no abnormally high busy percentages.
Load on the box is .59.
8 x 3GHz, 32GB ram, 96 spindles arranged into raidz zdevs on OI 147.

samba as pdc in Ubuntu dapper, fails on ps$ join?
Hola,
I've done everything as correct as I can see in smb.conf under fresh ubuntu 6.06 fully
updated install to have it run as a PDC on hostname florentine, domain DAVEYST.
There are no testparm errors.
I've added users with useradd and smbpasswd -a
I've added machines with useradd and smbpasswd -a -m
I can see the server in my network neighbourhood and access/browse folders on
