3.12, ganesha and storhaug
...I have a conflicted need: the NFS is needed to resolve the
mmap issue (and hopefully do some speed up that the users see) but the
real high-speed need is possibly through pNFS clients to NFS-Ganesha
but those connections will be over infinniband so only TCP and no RDMA.
That drops my raw speed from 40Gbps to 10Gbps (connectx-2 gear). I can
run gnfs on RDMA (40Gbps!) but no NFSv4.1 for pNFS AND a manual mess
setting up HA for connections. The last connection fun is not all
clients connect over infinniband so I do have standard ethernet ports
as well (40Gbps feeding multiple switches for 10Gbps and 1G...

Problem running Gluterfs over Infiniband
...lso found in lower 3.2.1
Kernel Version 2.6.32
IB Stack and kernel moduls taken and built from OFED /Open Fabrics (1.5.3)
/IP over IB works, I can ping ober Ib between the maschines,
Gluster System complains though about RDMA errors...
IB Cards used: Mellanox (kernel module mthca) dual port, 40GBps
one port per card only configured, used and plugged on.

Xen and the InfiniBand
Hi, all,
Is the Xen currently compatible with the InfiniBand? I found some
information about the Smart I/O module, but it was posted in 2006. Is the
module still maintained? Or, are there any up-to-date alternatives for
that?
Many thanks,
Chiu

OFF TOPIC: Core router upgrade for a voip colocation center
...5 years
ago! The VXR model is darn close to end of life i suspect
- minimal horse power here for the money, prone to death by packet attack
[option #2 - Cisco GSR (12008)]
--------------------------------
Estimated: $7,000 to $14,000 [varies if I start with GigE or just 100mbit]
1 Cisco12008 GSR 40Gbps
1 Clock Scheduler Card (GSR8)
3 Switch Fabric Card (GSR8)
2 AC Power
1 4 port OC-3c/STM-1 Single Mode
1 GE card or a 4 port x 100 mbit
+ much higher total bandwidth/packet processing power compared to 7200, for
similar money
- product is long since obsolete and outclassed by the 760x cisco router,...
