...t in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and Windows Server, version 1709 Applies to: Windows 10 version 1709, Windows Server Datacenter Core, version 1709, Windows Server Standard Core, version 1709. A complete description of the problem is listed on the site: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4034314/smbv1-is-not-installed-windows-10-and-windows-server-version-1709 I added this to the smb4.conf file: client min protocol = SMB2. Obviously, I restarted samba after makeing the change. I even did a cold reboot of the machines thinking that might have an affect. It didn't. I also tried som var...

Windows 10 Client - Samba 3 Server - NT4 Style PDC
I suggest reading this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4034314/smbv1-is-not-installed-by-default-in-windows Imo, the longer you wait with samba AD the harder it gets to get things running. You could better spend you time on settting up and migrating to AD the keep putting time in a dying product. But thats my optinion. Greetz, Louis > -----Oorsp...

Can't join Windows 10 to classic domain
I've been running Samba 4 in NT4 Domain mode for a few years, and it's been working fine with Windows 7 PCs. I now need to join a new Windows 10 PC to the domain, but I'm not having any success! When I try to join the domain, the Windows 10 PC says "An Active Directory Domain Controller could not be contacted...." I've tried a few things, including:- Setting

Can't connect anymore a share in domain A from domain B since
Try it like this. net use z: \\<computer in A.FQDN\<share> /USER:NTDOM\%username% Does that work for the samba 4.1, if not, check if you windows disabled smbv1 See: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4034314/smbv1-is-not-installed-by-default-in-windows Best is, upgrade you systems so you can use samba 4.7+ Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org] Namens > Hénoch Hervé via samba > Verzonden: dinsdag 29 mei 2018 14:44 >...

Samba Samba and UFW
Louis, Did not mean to confuse. Before I upgraded to Mint 19.1 I could go to the network, click on windows network, click on workgroup, then office and the windows pc (office) would mount. No problems. THe folders on the windows machine would be accessed. Now in Mint 19.1 I get the error "Unable to mount location....". We traced this behavior to the UFW firewall blocking the

Windows 10 Client - Samba 3 Server - NT4 Style PDC
I have an old setup that serves my purposes, but which I'll move over to a more modern Samba4 setup at some point. I know it's old, deprecated etc. In any case, at the moment I'm having a problem with two Windows 10 machines connecting to the domain I set up. The network is a mix of XP, Windows 7 and Windows 10 machines. Four (4) windows 10 machines connect to the domain after the
