Checking for monotonic sequence
I am scraping data from a web page using XML (excellent package BTW - that's scraping data the easy way!). So far, I've got the code: tables <- readHTMLTable(theurl) rhf <- tables$tabResHistFull div1 <- rhf[which(rhf$V1=="Div ps"),] div1 which is giving me the result:        V1 V2    V3    V4    V5    V6    V7          V8    V9   V10   V11   V12   V13   V14  V15 15

Forescasting using predict() in an object of class arimax when there is an outlier IO in the model.
Forescasting using predict() in an object of class arimax when there is an outlier IO in the model. Hi R users I have a problem when a use the predict() method in an object of class arimax ( These objects are the results of the implementation of the function arimax() from the TSA library) . The object is a model of a time series in which I identified an IO oulier at the element 33 of the serie

Est of SE of coefficients from lm() function
Dear all R users, Can anyone tell me how I can get estimate of SE of coefficients from, lm() function? I tried following : x = 1:10 lm(x[-1]~x[-10]-1)$coefficients Here I got the est. of coefficient, however I also want to get some "automated" way to get estimate of SE. Regards, [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

No subject
I'm wondering if hdlc can be the culprit (not sure what it is and what it does). Should I set hdlc to yes in misdn.conf (I'm asking before testing because this is a production system)? misdn.conf: [general] misdn_init=/etc/misdn-init.conf debug=0 ntdebugflags=0 ntdebugfile=/var/log/misdn-nt.log ntkeepcalls=no bridging=no stop_tone_after_first_digit=yes append_digits2exten=yes

faxes received on mISDN
Hi, My initial setup for receiving faxes worked as follows: fax call arrives on ISDN BRI connected to a BOSCH PBX, signal sent to ALCATEL PBX via PRI QSIG then finally sent to ASTERISK via PRI EUROISDN. The Asterisk server then forwarded the call to a iaxmodem and HylaFax received the data. All worked fine. Now I got rid of both BOSCH and ALCATEL in the "fax path" and it's as

Is R the right choice for simulating first passage times of random walks?
Dear R folks, I need to simulate first passage times for iterated partial sums. The related papers are for example [1][2]. As a start I want to simulate how long a simple random walk stays negative, which should result that it behaves like n^(-?). My code looks like this. -------- 8< -------- code -------- >8 -------- n = 100000 # number of simulations length = 100000 # length of

help with recursive function
Hi, I need some help with running a recursive function. I like to run funlp2 recursively. When I try to run recursive function in another function named "calclp" I get this "Error: any(!dat2$norm_sd) >= 1 is not TRUE". I have never built a recursive function before so having trouble executing it in this case. I would appreciate any help or guidance to resolve this issue.

You seem to have a typo at this expression (and some others like it) Namely, you write any(!dat2$norm_sd) >= 1 when you possibly meant to write !( any(dat2$norm_sd) >= 1 ) i.e. I think your ! seems to be in the wrong place. How to define proper breaks in RFM analysis
Hey, i want to define 3 ideal breaks (bin) for each variable one of those variables is attached in the previous email, i don't want to consider quartile method because quartile is not working ideally for that data set because data distribution is non normal. so i want you to suggest another method so that i can define 3 breaks with the ideal interval for Recency, frequency and monetary to

Hi, I accidently left out few lines of code from the calclp function. Updated function is pasted below. I am still getting the same error ?Error: !(any(data1$norm_sd >= 1)) is not TRUE? I would appreciate any help. Nilesh dput(calclp) function (dataset) { dat1 <- funlp1(dataset) recursive_funlp <- function(dataset = dat1, func = funlp2) { dat2 <- dataset %>%

help with recursive function
Eric: Thanks for taking time to look into my problem. Despite of making the change you suggested, I am still getting the same error. I am wondering if the logic I am using in the stopifnot and if functions is a problem. I like the recursive function to stop whenever the norm_sd column has zero values that are above or equal to 1. Below is the calclp function after the changes you suggested.

If you are trying to understand why the "stopifnot" condition is met you can replace it by something like: if ( any(dat2$norm_sd >= 1) ) browser() This will put you in a debugging session where you can examine your variables, e.g. > dat$norm_sd HTH, Eric On Thu, Dec 14, 2017 at 5:33 PM, Eric Berger <ericjberger at gmail.com> wrote: > The message is coming from

Eric: I will try and see if I can figure out the issue by debugging as you suggested. I don?t know why my code after stopifnot is not getting executed where I like the code to run the funlp2 function when the if statement is TRUE but when it is false, I like it to keep running until the stopifnot condition is met. When the stopifnot condition is met, I like to get the output from if statement

How to define proper breaks in RFM analysis
Hi Your statement about attaching data is problematic. We cannot do much with it. Instead use output from dput(yourdata) to show us what exactly your data look like. We also do not know how do you want to split your data. It would be nice if you can show also what should be the bins with respective data. Unless you provide this information you probably would not get any sensible answer. Cheers

Your code contains the lines stopifnot(!(any(data1$norm_sd >= 1))) if (!(any(data1$norm_sd >= 1))) { df1 <- dat1 return(df1) } stop() "throws an error", causing the current function and all functions in the call stack to abort and return nothing. It does not mean to stop now and return a result. Does the function give

Hi You expect us to solve your problem but you ignore advice already recieved. Your data are unreadable, use dput(yourdata) instead. see ?dput > test<-read.table("clipboard", heade=T) Error in scan(file = file, what = what, sep = sep, quote = quote, dec = dec, : line 115 did not have 6 elements What is ?ideal interval? can you define it?
