Outbund Route via Extension
Hi All, is it possible to choose outbound route by checking the extension of the caller? e.g extension that starts with 3 goes to outbound route 1 extension that starts with 4 goes to outbound route 2. Basically, i'm hosting two(2) office, extension 3XXX is office 1 and extensions 4XX is office 2, they both have the same dialling pattern so i need to choose route based on source. i'm using freepbx for this. thank you Nhadie

IAX problem through intermediate asterisk box
...eographically far, but connected over a private network. (the latency between A and B, and B and C are roughly equal) Each server has at least 1 phone hanging off of it, with A and C having most of the phones (B only has a couple). A's extensions are all 1XXX, B's are 2XXX, and C's are 3XXX Phoning from A to B (or vice versa) works well, as does phoning from B to C (and vice versa). Calls can be placed for an indefinite amount of time and everything works great. The problem arises when phoning from A through B to C (or vice versa). For the first small amount of time (which can vary...

spouse-friendly spa-3000 pstn interface
...fined the PSTN Line (fxo) to register with asterisk via sip using a second sip.conf entry (extn 2222). PSTN User, defined PSTN Ring Thru Line 1 Ring Settings as "1". In Line 1, defined Gateway Account #1 to point to asterisk, and created a dialplan entry like: (*xx|81xxx.<:@gw1>|3xxx<:@gw1>|0<:@gw0>|[2-9]11<:@gw0>|xxxxxx.<:@gw0>) Note: gw0 defaults to the pstn line per the spa-3000 doc. Result: 1. If asterisk is down for any reason, all incoming pstn home calls still ring through to the analog house phones. 2. Incoming pstn calls ring through to the ho...

caller id over iax
...isk with a number of users, and some pstn connections through its Zaptel card. I've recently set up another Asterisk which has no direct pstn access and I've connected the 2 systems with IAX. The original system has an extension number range 1xxx and the new asterisk has the number range 3xxx. I can call both ways, and when required can access the inbound/outbound pstn connections from both systems. Thats excellent - it works a treat! But my problem is with Caller ID. When I call from *1 to the new system the extension caller id's are correct. But when I call in the other direct...

device alias
Hi. I''d like to request a feature be added to zfs. Currently, on SAN attached disk, zpool shows up with a big WWN for the disk. If ZFS (or the zpool command, in particular) had a text field for arbitrary information, it would be possible to add something that would indicate what LUN on what array the disk in question might be. This would make troubleshooting and general

Getting the right DST in CDR
Hey gang, I've never really noticed this until now. We have 20 phones here. All with internal 3XXX extensions. 10 of the phones also have DIDs. The way I have asterisk setup in extensions.conf is: [all-incomming] exten => 8569967485,1,Goto(internal,3015,1) <etc..> [internal] exten => 3015,1,Dial(SIP/3015,20) <etc..> This way all the phones default context is internal. about nmap
Dear all! Last evening I've noticed that my 5.2 box had strange result about nmap search. One port is randomly open when I look from user account. From root everything looks as expected. The comp is most time out of internet. The last thing was adding "expect" package. I am not paniced, could be hiting... Or something in "expect" package... It is random port from 53000 to

If you are running 3rd > party drivers - i.e. vBox addons, nVidia, ATI or ELRepo - you need to > ensure a compatible driver is loaded. I use flgrx from ELRepo. Does this mean that fglrx is now incompatible with CentOS? Yves

Think in, you have 1000 options and 3 are perfect for you. Think ahead what you want todo with samba and how you want to use is, this is very important. For example, i want adding samba AD to...

The Smallest Asterisk Server Ever?
...but I have been extremely surprised by the results. I can support up to 3 concurrent SIP sessions before I start to get degraded quality, and the box appears to be rock solid. I have it registered against our production Asterisk server at work over my Cable modem, and my staff can simply dial 3xxx to ring my extension at home. Voicemail works just fine and with the addition of the "Asterisk-sounds" pkg inbond callers now know that we are out "Gambling and getting drunk" when they call. Is this the smallest Asterisk server ever? :) asterisk:~# cat /proc/cpuinfo proce...

soft ATA on linux with zaptel?

I have a Linux machine with a zaptel card in it and I want to have another Linux machine running Asterisk utilize the zaptel card in the first Linux machine to make outgoing and receive
