Question on list object
...)
listObj[[3]] <- rnorm(5)
Now I want to convert above list into a Matrix. Ofcourse I can do it using
"Reduce("rbind", listObj)". However as you notice that as elements of that
list are arbitrary length vectors, I cant use this trick. What I want is to
have a matrix with 3x5 dimension, where the remaining element of each row
with be filled with NA, i.e I want :
rbind(c(listObj[[1]], c(NA, NA)), c(listObj[[2]], c(NA)),listObj[[3]])
Is there any better way on how I can do that more directly?
Thanks and regards,

two questions re: the use of lattice
..._lML", "s_mlsk", "s_mlML", "s_la8",
"s_haar") as the input. As you may notice, it puts them in its own
merry order (I suspect in ascii alphabetical order, but that conjecture
is based entirely on my very few sample attempts).
Question 2: I want to have 3x5 plots of the respective boxplots.
Something like:
Error ~ Method | sigma + INU?
But I want the labels for the sigma and the INU to be only in the
column and the rows (vertically here) as appropriate, in order to save
plotting space. How do I go about doing this?

Are you writing "imperative" or "declarative" scenarios in your stories?
...an though. The declarative version
does feel a lot better and seems to keep the salient points more
prominent. Keeping the stories small, I think, is also more in line
with the typical user stories in XP and other agile methodologies. (I
would like to see someone stick the first example on a 3x5 card :). )
I did Use Cases (Alistair Cockburn style) on a project several years ago
and I remember that revealing anything about the interface or
implementation was a big no no. I realize that user stories != use
cases so I''m trying to find a balance between UI based stories and more...

New Printer - Problems with paper size settings
I've just bought a new printer and I find that the paper size settings in Wine are misbehaving.
In every case the initial setting was "Index Card 3x5 in". I have reset that to A4 paper size, my desired default, in each app and the printing works OK printing to A4 paper as desired. However, when I next use the app the paper size has reset itself to either the 5X3 index card or to "A5 Borderless". I have checked the printer setup in...

CentOS 4.5: Print on custom paper size?
I'd like to print on an index card. My printer (an HP LaserJet 2100)
supports it, but I can't figure out how to get a 3x5 inch option in
CentOS's "Printer Properties" dialog.
Thanks for any help or direction that can be provided!

Creating/Protecting a Subnet
I have an admin machine, and a backup server which does backups. The backup server has IPMI so I can do lights-out admin, and I want to allow this from the admin machine only. IPMI is completely unfirewalled, and so it must have a different class C than working networks.... this is just how it is.
I''ve set the IPMI IP on the backup server to 192.168.10.4, and created a virtual

force b/w printing
Has anyone an idea, how to force users to print b/w on a color printer.
We are in the process to deploy color printers to some of our offices where
they use centos 5.5 as their OS. They need the printers to print some
advertisement material. But for everything else, they don't need it. And
because of the costs of the color printing we would like to force them to
use B/W where not explicitly

7110 questions
Hi all,
(down to the wire here on EDU grant pricing :)
i''m looking at buying a pair of 7110''s in the EDU grant sale.
The price is sure right. I''d use them in a mirrored, cold-failover
config.
I''d primarily be using them to serve a vmware cluster; the current config
is two standalone ESX servers with local storage, 450G of SAS RAID10 each.
